I'm going to start making appointments to meet with potential vendors this week. Problem is, I only have one day off during the week, and so I need to basically make as many appointments in a day as I can fit.How long did you guys meet with potential photographers, bands, florists, etc? Did you find that if you didn't click your appointments were shorter? Did you meet with a florist longer than a photographer, or vice versa?
Thanks for any help you can offer!!

The length of our appointment DEFINITELY depended on how well we clicked. To be honest we only met with one photographer but we were in his studio for almost 2 hours just BSing. Same with our DOC, sat with them for over an hour but when we met with a DOC we didn't book, the appointment seriously was like 20 minutes. The DJ probably was about 45mins but again, we knew we were booking them before we even went. You'll know pretty quickly whether you click with a person but I would definitely plan at least 1 hour for each appt. If you really click but have to leave ask them to save your date and you can always meet again if you feel like you need more time.

I find that most standard apps are an hour. So far everything has been about that long-besides, I think most places might have someone or something booked right after you so they prob schedule an hour

I would definitely say about an hour for each vendor. Thats also pretty much how they do they're scheduling unless there are certain circumstances. We met with our photographer (actually two photographers) and we saw the one we're booking with for about an hour and a half... and the one we didn't book with we stayed with for about 45 minutes.
Yesterday I saw a florist and was there for about a half hour. This may have been shorter than most though as I am not doing floral centerpieces.
I would say schedule each about 2-2.5 hours apart. An hour for the appointment... an hour for travel time (unless they're 5 minutes from each other...) and than like that half hour for wiggle room.

I agree that it depends on how well you get along. We went to one venue which will go unnamed and we were literally there for 6 minutes. Another venue we were there for almost 2 hours and wound up booking. The average was half hour to an hour for venues.
For the videograper and photographer we were there for about 1 hour each. We knew we were booking both of them before meeting and we got along so well with them. Most of the time we were there just talking about some random things.
Don't plan to stay for less than a half hour I guess!
