Cookware set?

Anyone have suggestions for a good cookware set. I want to register for one and have read so many reviews that All Clad seems to be the best, however, they are soooooo expensive. I want to register for something that is going to last!! Any suggestions?

We registered for the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel. We didn't want non-stick, and we really liked the look and feel of this set. Our registry consultant at Bed Bath & Beyond was also really helpful in telling us about the different brands and types.

This! We put a few non-stick items like an omelette pan and Wok, in addition. The sales person confirmed what I wanted and said it was the best way to go.

Re: Cookware set?

can someone please explain to me how to properly cooking with stainless steel pans? I got a cuisine art set last Christmas, and unless I use a ton of oil or butter everything sticks! I agree that non stick doesn't sear well, and you cant deglaze .

I wish I could afford the whole le cruesset set, in my dreams only!

I think you need to make sure the pan is heated to the proper heat (not too high). My set came with really detailed instructions - maybe look online for cooking tips from the manufacture's website?
