I just booked my wedding at the coral House for March and although it looked very nice to me, my sister told me that she has heard from several people that it has a bad reputation. Has anyone been to a wedding there who can shed some light?

I've never been to a wedding there-but I have heard good things about Coral house. Go to search and type in Coral house-FM some of the brides who have had their weddings there. Good luck.

i went to a wedding there a few years ago and it was very nice. the cocktail hour was outdoors and then we moved inside. I had a good time and if i remember properly, the food was good. my only 'what the?' had to do with the open bar....with boxes of wine. call me snobby, but i like my wine out of a bottle!
I had my first wedding there in 1996? It was very nice. I didn't have any problems at all and my ex MIL was a huge pain in the @ss to everyone! Even the people who worked there and they were still nice to me.

Actually my cousin got married there and it was really nice...I thought it was pretty and the food was yummy! The only thing in the beginning it was a little confusing because there was another wedding ~ but other than that I loved it!

I'm getting married there in 85 days and I really like the place. I had heard the same mixed reviews in the beginning before we booked, but after going to a food tasting and seeing for myself we decided that we'd form our own opinion :)
I've since heard positive things, so I wouldn't worry :)

I went to a wedding there many years ago - I think we're going back 13-14 years or so. I have no idea if its the same now, but I remember it being nice- the one thing that sticks out the most to me is the ceremony though - it was outside by the 'lake'. I remember hearing a lot of cars passing by and that it was really cold out!

I live in Baldwin, right down the block from the Coral House and it is always packed... there is always something going on there! they wouldn't be doing such good business if their food and/or service were terrible.
I was never at a wedding there, but growing up, there were many community events (soccer dinners, etc.) hosted at the Coral House and they were fine. FH and I looked there for our wedding and it was our 2nd choice... the food at the tasting was fantastic. I think you'll be just fine... I think sometimes people on LI think just because it's not somewhere really expensive, it's 'ghetto.' I don't think that's true. when I met with the people there, I was more than impressed and they made me realize that on a SMALL budget, I could still have a nice wedding.

This was our 2nd choice. I love the room we would have had there, it was gorgeous. Elegant & I love the hardwood floors. We both thought the food was very good, too. My DH has been there a million times growing up and liked it, that's why we went there.

Thank you so much! I really feel the same way, I just wanted different opinions. I agree about the food tasting; that is actually what made us choose it! Good luck at your wedding too! Congrats!
I haven't been to a wedding or function there in years, but from what I remember, it was great. The staff was nice and the food was good. There will always be a negative review somewhere....take it with a grain of salt.
