Cork Idea for my wine themed wedding..need honost opinions!

Ok so I've been having my entire family save wine bottle corks since we got engaged because I wanted to make them into placecard holders...fastforward to a year later and I think I'm crazy to think I could make these things! I'm so not a DIYer and I just don't have the patience and I don't think they will turn out at all how I want them. I found really cute placecards so I'm not worried about those now, but I still want to do something with all the corks.

Do you think it would look wierd if I got those low floating candle water vases and put a floating candle and then a bunch of floating corks in it on the tables? I would put 2 of the bowls on each table around our centerpiece. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this how I'm picturing it in my head, but let me know what you think. Thanks!

I think that sounds interesting. My concern as a guest I might wonder why there are cokrs in the candles. It would really depend on how it related to your CP and theme.
How about another thought. . . I saw a cork board made out of wine bottle corks. You can pin the placecards to them without too much DIY and still keeping the wine/placecard idea going.

that's a cute idea. also... below is apicture of the place cards... something to think about with place cards. seems like a little bit of a process but something to think about. maybe use them for table numbers, or put pictures of you guys in place of the cards??

That's a good idea, but our placecards will stand up on their own, so I don't know I wish I could find a website or something with cork ideas

good idea!! if you are printing your own table numbers, you can go to www.dafont.com free downloadable fonts, they have some AWESOME vintage fonts that might go with your wine theme.

My mother found glass grape placecard holders and bought them for me. I love them sooo much and they work so well with our colors and theme. So we scratched the cork placecard idea. Now, we're going to scatter corks on each of the tables. We'll also make some corkboards, pin on some photos of us, and place them around the RH.

i was thinking of doing the cork idea for place cards... i was just going to put slits in them and put the cards in.. and have them laying down.. if that makes sense
