cost of shipping

cost of shipping

Because i'm moving to Colorado after the wedding, i obviously need to take EVERYTHING with me. We're driving back, but not taking a uhaul. They charge by mile, so it'll be well over $1,000 and i'm not having it. We're just gonna rent a big SUV instead and try to pack as much as we can. That includes all my clothes and some extra stuff (like my books, DVD collection, etc - things just accumulated over 23 years. lol) and of course all the gifts I get for the shower I'm thinking that it might be wise to MAIL some of this instead. Like maybe starting now I can begin packing things and shipping it over to him. Maybe like the lighter things. Anyone know how much it costs to send stuff? Like according to weight? I feel like it's expensive, but I'm not sure. Obviously I'm not gonna do it if it's too much $$. I'm trying to pay for a wedding over here!

But if anybody knows, please fill me in. I just don't know what to do with this annoying situation.

You might be able to check on the USPS site or UPD site the cost of different package sizes or weights. Or maybe stop by the post office or UPS and ask to give you a breakdown of the sizes and weights and the cost.

Yup I agree, you can print out your own lables too and slap them on the box.

You can just write in an estimate of how much each box is and they will tell you the price, make sure you spring for the tracking so you know where your stuff is and doesnt get lost in the mail.

If you are mailing bulk ( big boxes) I think it's cheaper to use UPS.

Good Luck
