I put pictures of me in gowns into my albums. My Album These are gowns that either I loved, my MOH loves, or my Mother loves. Please tell me what you think, and be honest. Everyone just keeps telling me they love them all but I know they don't all look great on me. I do not have a picture of the other gown i love because no one will let me take photos in it!
After seeing my body type... any suggestions for other gowns or designers to look at? I'm very top heavy DDD but i am much smaller everywhere else. I'm not skinny by any definition so mermaid styles are probobly out.

ETA: This is the dress i am in love with. It's totally differant from all the others. It's exactly what i always pictured when i was little. I saw the dress online and cried. I have ripped out every picture i've found of it in mags. I have tried it on. I love it. but my mom and my moh kind of went 'EH' to it. they werent impressed.
do you think the dress that looks best is how you should go or the dress you like the best?

i love that dress, but i feel like it doesnt flatter me. i loved it in the store but in pictures i feel like i look like a fat manatee with giant boobs.

I like the 2nd one on you a lot... the detail, the train, everything was just beautiful
You might want to try on a halter-style or cap sleeve gown; they tend to balance out 'top-heavy' women.
halters actually make me look ridiculous, and cap sleeves make me shudder.
honestly, the gown i'm in love with is long sleeved, and i love it but no one else likes it on me.

Don't go by the pictures alone! I looked at some of the pics of me in dresses, and threw up in my mouth, and I liked the way they looked otherwise.

Check out James Clifford, Maggie Sottero, Allure, and Private Label. There's a Private Label dress that has similar detailing to the 2nd dress in your album, but w/ a simpler bottom half of the gown. I think it's style # 1226.

My mom has cataracs and she loves the purple sash... her taste cannot be trusted.
My MOH loved a dress that i put $$ down on but now i hate that dress. I think i only fell for it b/c she was so excited about it.
I really wish FH would help me with this. He's the only one who's taste i trust, he knows what i like, he's always honest about what i look good and/or bad in, and he's the only one who i care about liking the damn dress!! stupid traditions.

i tried on that gown and they wouldnt let me take pictures. I LOOOVED IT! it's exactly what i was looking for in a strapless dress but i couldnt figure out which gown it was on the site. seriously, will you be my new BFF?? now i can show my mom!!!

no, i asked for honesty. you don't sound like a b*tch at all. the waist is purple, and it'd be the same color i have my girls in... but i hate how it cuts me in half like that. i feel like the sash makes me look like i'm all boobs.
Sometimes people get upset especially if thats their fave...but from what I see some of the other girls feel the same way...I didn't like how it cut you either. I just didn't want to say that.... LOL
I went to DB first and was SOOOOOOO convinced I wanted to do the color sash because of how it cut me. Since I AM all boobs, it made me look like I actually had a figure.
I hated every dress I tried on after that especially when it didn't have any color. Then I found MY dress and it wasn't at all what I thought it would be :) It's technically not white so i'm happy.

i AM all boobs too. at 5'3' and a DDD it's all i am. i feel like the dress with the giant sash just emphasizes that.
i want to 'show them off' a bit b/c they have done me well in life but at the same time, i want people to look at ME for once and not just the ladies.

you are so right! I wish i could show FH my dress and see if he likes it, he's the only one I care about and he would be completely honest with me.
I like the last one, but without the sash as well. i think it has a little bit of 'spanish' feel to it because of the lace, and that's why i like. i'm biased, cuz that's those are the styles that I was looking for...but overall i think they are all really nice and you do/will gorgeous in any of them!!

I AGREE its a pretty dress but doesnt flatter you, it doesnt emphasize your waist and makes you look wider than the other dresses

FH won't talk about it no matter how hard i try. He is sooo traditional it's making me sick lol. He's my best friend, he's the only one i trust with NORMAL EVERY DAY CLOTHES!! ugh. so frustrating.

you werent the only one to say black so don't feel bad. i'm glad people are saying that now, b/c it gives me the chance to change colors. i want a purple purple, not a purple that looks black.
