We are having mini Yankee jersey's made and the table #'s will be the #'s some of our favorit Yankee players...no names (cause on a Yankee jersey they don't have their names on the back)...just the #'s

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
'Instead of numbering your tables 1 to eternity, get a little creative! For a recent wedding we did a little research and found out how to say love in 12 different languages. We then named each of the tables after these 12 ways to say 'Love.' If the bride or groom is a sports fan, you may name the tables after football teams or basketball teams. Want to stick to the old-fashioned way? You can number your tables and still get a little creative. Go to your local Home Depot or home improvement store and browse their selection of ceramic tile house numbers. They offer very beautiful, unique and creative ways to traditionally number your tables.'Found on: UltimateWedding.com
I personally think this one is great!

Paper Photo Albums asTable Numbers & Book of Well Wishes
How great is it to have something serve two purposes as opposed to one? Here our mini paper photo albums allow your guests to find their assigned tables. The albums, also, provide a unique and creative way for your guests to leave their written well wishes.

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
Table Numbers are an often-overlooked aspect of wedding receptions. Customizing this part of your reception is a great way to leave a lasting impression with your guests, not to mention they make a great conversation piece while your guests wait for you and your groom to arrive and start the festivities. Below are just a few ideas of ways to name your tables in a very creative way. Remember…no one ever said your tables have to be named with numbers!Artists
Are you or your fiancée appreciative of the arts? Why not name your tables after your favorite artists or works of art? Imagine being seated at the Monet table, the Van Gogh table, or the Picasso table. You can easily build this theme into your table decorations by framing a print from each artist in a stand up frame that sits in the middle of the table. Help out the guests that don’t recognize the artist by the painting and use a name tag or stand up sign to mark the table with the artists’ name.
Places You’ve Traveled
If you and your fiancée are avid travelers, name each table after one of your favorite destinations. Mark the table with the destination name and decorate it with pictures of you and your fiancée on the vacation that took you to this destination. You can even go as far as adding a short note describing your trip. What a great way to personalize your reception, share something about yourselves with your guests and entertain them at the same time! With this idea, you could even go as far as decorating each table entirely after the destination it is named after.
Colors
Add color and excitement to your entire reception room by marking your tables after colors. Then decorate the table with ribbons, candles or other items in the specified color. For consistency, try to find the exact same style of decorations for each table but in different colors. This will make for a beautifully colored reception room!
With these examples in mind, let your imagination go wild to create a custom theme for your reception tables. Think about hobbies or interests that are unique to you and your fiancée and incorporate those into your decorations. With small touches like these, your reception will be a place to remember not only for you, but for each of your reception guests!

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
Want more ideas on alternatives to table numbers for your reception. Here are some more ideas on how to be creative at your wedding and express you and your groom at each table.*If you went to college together, get creative and name each table after halls, dorms or special places at your alma mater. My fiance and I are planning to do this, naming the tables after different halls from our college, Miami University. Our head table will be the dorm we lived in, and using names of other buildings and special places on campus for our different tables.
*Name each table after a special place in your relationship. Whether it is a local ice cream shop the two of you always went to or the place where he popped the question, this is a fun way to give the guests a ?history lesson? or your relationship.
*Going to a neat place on your honeymoon? Name each table after different sites on your honeymoon.
*Want to stick with the traditional table numbers but looking for a way to jazz them up? Put pictures of you and your fiance on each table card, and maybe a little history of that picture, like when and where it was taken and why it is important. Another way for guests to learn some history about the two of you, while not getting confused on where Table Reid Hall or Table Magic Kingdom are.
*If you or your fiance have a unique interest or hobby that you both share, use that interest or hobby to number your tables. Again, a good way to share your hobby with your guests and to personalize your reception.
*If you have a specific theme, use that in your table numbers. Whether it?s Mardi Gras or Medieval Knights, using your theme in your table numbers can make your wedding creative and fun.
*You and your groom in love with a certain movie, television show or sports team? Name your tables after characters, players or certain sites dealing with those topics.

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
We're not doing anything crazy w/ table numbers but we'll have pictures on every table and each table will have a theme:Our engagement
Dakota (my dog)
Uncle Jack's (where we got engaged)
etc.
Each will have a picture and a little story about it in a frame.

I think I've seen someone else do this before. I want to go to the park with FH and take pics of us in different poses holding a sign with each table # on it. My only problem is the size that the sign has to be inorder to see it in a 5x7 pic, which will be on each table.
What do you think?

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
We are either going to do:1) Pics of us together holding the table number either at the beach (to match the theme) or at different places
2) I like what CaMacho did where they wrote the numbers in the sand and took a pic
3) Write the numbers using tiny seashells/starfish
Good luck. What is your theme? color scheme if any?

I like your idea too. They came out great, did you make them yourself???
Maybe if my idea is too hard, I can just use different pics from our 6 1/2 years together and use 1 per table and addthe table #.

Re: Creative Ideas for Table Numbers...
This is what I did and it was easy to sub in a new picture and title of movie for each one. I got the frames from Ikea and it was roughly 8x10. I printed them out at work. I loved them and so did my mom (who isn't crafty). I have yet to hear from a guest that thought they were as awesome as I thought they were!
ps. if you do the park thing, just bring one piece of white, unmarked oak tag. then on the computer, you can put in the number!

That's what FH wanted to do, with the blank oak tag. Do you think it would work out well or just as good? He is a computer wiz.
Did you find that the 8x10 frame wasn't too big for the table? Our tables are oval with low centerpieces....what do you think???
