I want to do something a little different for table numbers instead of just putting a number. Anyone do anything unique? Even putting the numbers on the table in a unique way? I like the pillar candle idea, but our centerpieces have candles and I'm afraid it would get lost in the centerpiece. We're big Disney fans, I was thinking of incorporating that somehow....

how about (like your avatar) pictures of the two of you in different disney places in frames with the number on it.
or you can name each table after 'something disney'
is there a specific disney theme in your wedding... like cinderella, snow white???

We are doing a watermark picture of us in a vintage frame and the table 'numbers' will be the name of the place we are in the picture..
Like: Turks and Caicos, Mexico.....

We named our tables after famous monsters. On the back we printed the history of the charactor/movie.
You could do Disney tables: (see pics)
Mickey - Parents of Groom seated here Minnie - Parent of Bride seated here Donald Goofy etc. etc...
i created table names rather than table numbers and named them all after locations dh and i went while we were dating (all were locations in nyc). on the front we put a pic of the place and the name of it. and on the back we wrote about what the place means to us, what date number it was, what we did on that date, and how we were feeling about each other. this was put on brown cardstock b/c our main color was brown. then we put it on the floral centerpiece. here is a sample of one. there is more info in my review.
here are the place cards we made, where we did put a table number (mostly for my sanity to keep the tables straight and for the hall so they can easily tell where 'metropolitan opera' table was).

I was recently flipping through Martha Stewart Weddings and saw a cute idea for table numbers-
You can take close-up photos of different styles of house numbers and matte and mount them on heavy card stock. The pictures and how-to are in the magazine. It was very cool.

We're having a champagne theme wedding and are naming the tables after different champagnes. FBIL is a graphic designer so he is designing the table names and printing them on ivory card stock. I am going to insert the cards into 5 x 7 bronze picture frames that match the chairs at the RH.

I like the idea of having a photo of your pet holding a number sign in a frame.
I think we might be using FH's family dog to do this.

Why don't you make every table a disney character or movie and either use the movie title (poster type) or a character and then make a big posterboard and leave it by the place cards... we did this at our wedding but did different new york locations (our table was the empire state building since that's where he proposed) and we didn't get to do the poster in the front and it was total chaos - but it worked out.

No, nothing specific. Our cake topper is Mickey & Minnie, our first song is 'A Whole New World'....but I like the idea of pictures, I have plenty of us at different places in the parks. Thanks!
