Credit Card charge at Bridal Salons

I just called a bridal store to schedule an appt and they want to take credit card info in case you don't show and then they charge your card for a missed appt. What kind of crap is that? They try to get you anyway they can?

I've heard of different places doing that. I guess they want to make sure you show up.

I would never give my credit card info over the phone, unless I'm paying for something. What bridal salon is that?

i've heard of that.. but i'm not sure if i would... is it a high end salon?? they really want to make sure that you show up... but i dont understand what they are going to charge you if you dont show up... it's like if they were to charge u for not buying a dress from them that day...

Never heard of it and it sounds very shady. I don't like it - how can they prove you were there anyway - so they could charge you either way - not good

Damn is that a doctors office,lol. I have been to 5 places and they never asked me for that, where are you going?

I had that happen when I made an appt with Kleinfeld to try on dresses. For them, it somewhat makes sense since they're well known for their service and they want to make sure you're not wasting their time. I didn't have any problems with them.

That is crazy, I wouldn't bother going unless they had incredible prices. What salon is this??
