Its been a very long time since there was any posts on the Crescent ...is there anyone getting married there?

Before I got engaged I always said I was going to get married there. I went to look at it was not impressed. The view is beautiful, but I don't like how the ballroom has no bar in it. The bar is two tables put together outside of the room. I also think the bathrooms look like school bathrooms. I also do not like the portable dance floor.
Just not my taste.
We had our office party there a few years ago and it was great! After the party, a couple of my coworkers booked it for their weddings. One of my favorite locations!
my FH's sister got married there last June. The cocktail hour was outside and they hired a carribean band for that hour. The reception was beautiful. The service was great. But I've heard from someone that this place is starting to look rundowned. I would check it out several times before you book this place.
I looked at the CBC recently and was not impressed. If the weather is nice (late spring/summer/early fall), you have the option of having the wedding outside -> BEAUTIFUL. However, if the weather isn't noce or if you are having an off-season wedding the inside facilities are not very nice. I also found that the banquet managers were rude and pushy.
My parents went to a wedding there last summer and she said that it is definetly not worth the $$$. They said the food was not that good and they didn't like the fact that the restaurant (1/2 of the building) was open during the wedding and that the bathrooms were shared by the guests of the wedding and the restaurant.
If you like the area, try the Sewanaka (sp?) Yatch Club. It's just up the road on Centre Island. Beautiful location and building. I never went inside, but it's worth checking out.
Good Luck!
Ohhh, I have to vent about this one! I met with the owner a while back and he was a complete jerk. He got really obnoxious when I told him that I thought $180 a person might be out of my price range. Then he said that I wouldn't find another place cheaper on a Saturday night. I told him there were tons of places that are cheaper and he said those places must have more than one event event going on at a time. Wrong again! I'm having my reception at Land's End and not only is it cheaper, but I think it's much nicer.
