Re: Crest Hollow Brides
yea i dont know why they dont let us know of any showcases..westbury manor had one with food and everything for their upcoming brides!! i want to go to alil mixer at crest hollow to sample some more of the food and get a feel for the rooms again cuz i love being there lol...i booked duet photography they were great i have to go back and book the videography still tho..i didnt deal with eric when i booked so i got most of what i wanted thrown in but i didnt get into the e-shoot which at first i didnt want but now i do,,so when i go back for videography i am gonna tell them they better give it to me lol...and i booked NYU entertainment which u know is on CH's vendor list....I honestly loved the guy who is the MC me and fh just reallty hit it off with him hes laid back which is more of what i want and he understood everything i wanted and his phootage of past weddings and his performances were awesome..plus he does so many crest hollow weddings so he knows all the rooms and what works with the rooms really well..i was worried when nobody on here mentioned them but i researched it more and they are used a lot in manhattan for large catering halls so i am very excited yay! oh and great price on entertainment and my uplighting!! pink uplighting

Does CH ever have food at their showcases or anything? I hear they dont do tastings so I need someway to find out what the food is like. Word of mouth says its good but I want to know first hand. I have to see if I can get one of my friends to come with me to Tuesdays showcase. Ugh I also have my 3rd payment due on Wednesday.

Re: Crest Hollow Brides
Hi all, I'm new to this site. Congrats to all the CHCC brides to be!! I recently booked Crest Hollow for May 14,2010 in the Plaza room with an outdoor CH and me and my FH couldn't be happier.
As for the showcases at CHCC they are having smaller ones I think without food because too many people were coming just for free food and drinks and not booking anything. The most recent showcase I asked my BM about and he told me not to bother because he didn't recommend any of the vendors highly. I appreciated his honesty.
I saw a lot of people booked Patken photography and I was wondering if anyone looked at (Fine) (Art)FA because they are one of the house vendors?
We are still shopping around for music. Is anyone getting a band? We can't decide between a band and a DJ.

For the poolside cocktail hours loud music is not allowed. We were very disappointed. You can only have instrumental...like violin or something along those lines. I personally wanted a live steel pan band =(

They don't allow the dj for the cocktail hour outside. I'm having a violin and guitar for the ceremony and I don't know if this is even allowed for the cocktail hour.

I believe you can have a guitar, just not electric guitar.

you can have music as long as it is not ampliphied. so you can not have the dj play but you can have an instrumental piece playing

Re: Crest Hollow Brides
We hired a Keyboardist to play for our ceremony outside! But as far as cocktail hour, they said you wont be able to hear the violinist over the waterfall? Could that be true? lol

Re: Crest Hollow Brides
I believe the reasoning was for the residents as well. Hard to picture when they have a lot of grounds but drums apmpliphied must be loud. We are having carribean drums and they said that would be fine. I am guessing they have their reasons.

Caribbean Drums? do you mean steel pan?
Are you having this for the outdoor cocktail hour or outdoor ceremony?

Re: Crest Hollow Brides
The thing is I don't want to spend more money for a small flute band if we can't hear them. I just cant imagine people at the cocktail and their be no music? I don't know lol
