Right now we are to start the ceremony at CH at 6:30. I want to begin at 5:30- we realized the ceremony and other rituals will take a bit longer than we anticipated in Dec when we booked CH. Does anyone know if they are going to tack on a huge charge?? I have been putting off calling them.

Re: crest hollow- need more time for ceremony
We asked them about stealing an extra 15 minutes, and they said that they usually start right on the nose. They can't just add another 30 minutes without a good deal of planning, because they coordinate with the other weddings to make sure no one is running into eachother.
Just call and ask them, I have a feeling you will get charged as if you were having 2 ceremonies...so probably another $500 for the extra half hour, 1000 for the hour. This is a change to your contract, so I'm not sure how they'll handle it.
Who is your Banquet Manager?

Re: crest hollow- need more time for ceremony
Thanks for the info. My BM is Jeff Saber. Who is yours?
Another problem I am having is that the ceremony musicians are the ones I am using for the cocktail hour and with CH changing rooms for the cocktail hour, the musicians will miss playing for half of it due to taking down/setting up elsewhere.
UGH!

They shouldn't charge you, after all it doesn't cost them anything. I don't see it being a big deal unless someone else is getting married before you. I wouldn't call, I would go talk with them face to face - you can always get more of what you want that way. If your BM say it will cost $$, ask to speak with a manager. Our room was supposed to be a minimum of 120 people and they reduced it to 105. Can't hurt to ask! Good luck!

It does cost them, because they will likely have another party being cleaned up in that room an hour before the ceremony is to begin. We went through this asking if our ceremony could start a bit earlier....and everything has a price when it involves a reception hall. The contracts state the times included, so they will look to charge you for the overtime this would now be...
As for the cocktail hour, I hate that we don't know what room it will be in before that day...we don't even know where our ceremony will be. But I guess we just have to roll with it!

Hi! Sorry and I hate to say it...but I think they might charge becuase you are actually adding more time. If you just wanted to move up the time they may not charge if they can do it.
