Crest Hollow - hands down. I am first generation italian, and i have been to a few weddings at Leonards and many weddings at Crest Hollow. The food is 10x better at Crest Hollow and cleaner to, just look at the rugs in Leonards. They need to renovate a little.
So un called for and completely untrue, proves you haven't been there recently. It was renovated.
Same goes for you Cuban Bride!!!!! Bridezilla
what did I do?

Re: Crest Hollow VS. Leonards of Great Neck
No one likes to hear negative comments about their hall. I have heard people make little digs about my hall, but in the end, I personally don't care what other people think. As long as you and FH are happy, who cares??As for the original poster -- all I can say is for alot of us, we KNEW once we walked in if that was 'our hall'. Weigh the pros and cons of each and try to decide that way. What does your FH say?

I would recommend Crest Hollow. Haven't been to both, they really don't compare to each other in terms of service. Plus, Crest Hollow is just nicer and bigger and you can't beat the cocktail hour by the pool!
you're pretty rude, if you haven't noticed many of us are having our weddings at Leonards, and for your information I was at a wedding there recently and the service was OUTSTANDING. The cocktail hour was amazing.
Listen lilqt, stop instigating, people are just giving opinions, and what they have seen, bridzilla!!!!! And stop being so defensive.
bridezilla??? huh I am the futherest thing from it! I am the most easy going bride there can be, this is the first time I spoke out about something like this. WE are supposed to be here to HELP each other not put down each others weddings, saying Leonards is offensive and rude, maybe you need to relax.

Well I for one was offended by your attack/response. I never once put down any hall, simply stated which I preferred. You did react quite harshly, IMO. And I agree with Leigh...who cares what people think in the end? Your wedding wil be beautiful and special no matter what!

Well all I did was ask SomethingBlu how she could compare if she hadn't been to both. But she explained she had been and that was that. I don't think I am being mean.

Yikes...I didn't want anyone to fight, LOL.My FH says he likes both, we are tryin to weigh the pros n cons...We are tryin to get a food tasting this Saturday/Sunday. When we visited CH last week, the lady said there was no food tasting. How can I ask for one w/o coming off rude/mean?

I agree..sorry your post turned into this!
From what I have read ont hese boards, I don't believe that CH does tastings...that kinda stinks! Leonard's definitely does a tasting.
Are you planning on having your ceremony there? If you are, the weding we went to at CH had their ceremony outdoors and the space is secluded, you have to go up stairs and it's so beautiful. The ceremony space at Leonard's is nice, but it's a lot smaller in comparison and the outdoor one faces the street. The places are very different in decor, so in the end, you have to choose the one that feels like it's 'IT' for you.
Good luck!

Just tell the BM at Crest Hollow that you are debating between them and Leonards and a food tasting is what is holding you back from booking at Crest Hollow, if they're smart they will give you the food tasting!!!

Re: Crest Hollow VS. Leonards of Great Neck
I'm going to try n convince to have a tasting. I noticed you are having your ceremony in Richmond Hill (Near me, I'm in Ozone park). We plan just to have the ceremony in church.I like the entrance of Leonards better than CH, but the grounds/pool of CH. I also think that CH offers a greater cocktail hour (Leonards didnt include 'passing' of appetizers in basic menu, CH did). I sort of like the rooms in CH better than Leonards, a lot bigger. I actually got the BM from CH down to the same price as Leonards. So now that they are the same price, food is the next deal...I would love to have a food tasting there. This is soo hard!! But we have to make the decision soon...
Thanks for your answers!

Re: Crest Hollow VS. Leonards of Great Neck
Wasnt the point of this thread for people to share their experiences and give the poster something to base her decision on? You guys need to take a friggin chill pill with your 'Some of us are getting married there' crap. The cake at Westbury Manor *****, and I really dont give a darn because I AM THE ONE GETTING MARRIED THERE, and really dont care if anyone hates the cake, or the decor, or whatever. You cannot be so defensive about your hall, because guess what? Wherever you are getting married, there is ALWAYS somewhere with better food, service, decor, and CAKE!!!!
There will always be a dress prettier than yours, a bride who looked better than you, someone who made more money at their wedding, went on a better honeymoon, shall I go on?

Re: Crest Hollow VS. Leonards of Great Neck
My prom was at CHCC and my uncle got married at Leonards (although I think it was before the renovations some of the ladies were talking about). Both events took place a long time ago, but here is what I remember from them.1. The pool at CHCC is pretty great and makes for lovely pictures. We used that area for the cocktail hour
2. The bathroom at CHCC is HUGE!
3. The chandelier at Leonards is gorgeous.
4. Leonards worked with my uncle to provide Middle Eastern/Mediterean food (kabob, basmati, etc.). It was delicious!
Both places are excellent and I am sure you will be happy with either choice. Try to taste the food before you book at either. Good luck!

Re: Crest Hollow VS. Leonards of Great Neck
Try to get a food tasting at Crest Hollow if the food is your only deciding factor here.Other deciding factors may be:
decor, travel distance for your guests, price, gardens/scenery, ceremony option, size of rooms, etc.
