i really want to try them, but my friend said she used them for a while and now her teeth are really sensitive. anyone have any experience with them? do they even work like they're supposed to?

They do whiten farly well but yes I have sensitivity problems too. They became sensitive especially right after use and I still have one area of mouth that is still very sensitive. I am not sure if it is directly from this but there are warnings that say this can happen... so I am guessing.

I tried them and they worked but they really hurt me along the edges of my teeth.

I used them about 2 years ago. I smoke, so my teeth were starting to turn yellow.
They worked very well for me & I had no complications with my teeth afterwards. Although one of my friends used them and her teeth became sensitive, so i guess it depends on the person

I've used them and they never really made my teeth very sensitive.
Buttttt I also didn't use them every day like you're supposed to - I did like 3 days and then I forgot.
