I am reading conflicting opinions on Crib Bumpers - are they necessary? I have heard you should remove them when the baby is from 6-9 months old.

I did hear that you should remove the bumpers around the time they start crawling, that way they can't climb on the bumper and fall out of the crib. I have a bumper right now but then again my son is only three weeks old...he isn't going anywhere

What's up with the strings that are supposed to attached to the railings??? Did anyone else's rip off like mine?
Mia is 8 months old now and is trying to pull herself up, I'm guessing she still needs the bumper or else she can hit her little noget! (head)

I used the bumpers until Annalise could stand in the crib. There is a post about whether or not to remove bumpers with a ton of responses. It was over the last 2 months. I will search for you.
