FH and I havent really taken a VACATION together in forever, we've gone to the Pocanos, DC etc but we want a REAL vacation, cruise or Island.
So since we are on a tight budget with the wedding and all, we were thinking a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas. Has anyone done this? We are considering other possibilities - All inclusive Cozumel, maybe Cancun etc.
Where have you gone ladies? Where can we find the best prices? I have two free plane tickets through work so the airfare isnt a problem, its the best location for the best $$ that we are concerned about...
THANKS!

I LOVE cruises, soooo much fun. I've gone on several different lines but i'd have to say Carnival is my fave! I did Cozumel (yuck), Jamaica and Grand Cayman.
We did Royal Carribean Miami to Bahamas in October, it was only a 4 night cruise. It was FH's first time on a cruise, he enjoyed it so much (Kept on saying, I can get pizza ANYTIME?!?) we decided to do a HM cruise.
IMO one of the best sites is cruisecompete.com I think we're booking our HM through them. Its all online TA's so you should look at the BBB for info first.
The prices seem to be the same for all the agencies but they're offering us an onboard credit. None of the other places have given us anything close.

Cruises are a great time, but if you are looking to drink, they can be exspensive. So for that reason...vacay on a budget I would check out all inclusive

Re: cruise info? any advice would help!
I just came back from a carnival cruise and had a blast. We went out of Miami from May 21st to the 26th. We went to Grand Cayman and Ochos Rios. The ship was great the food was good(plenty of it too)the staff was fantastic. I had only been on one cruise before it and it was Royal Caribbean and I swore I wouldnt do it again because the food was as nasty as the staff on the ship. The rooms were real tiny. That cruise we went to the Bahamas and an island RC owned called COCO Cay and CoCo Cay was alot of fun and the only thing I enjoyed. DH and the kids had never been a cruise before when we went last month and they havent stopped talking about it since and are already making plans to do another one. FM if you want any further details

Re: cruise info? any advice would help!
Me n FH went to Canun for 5 nights the week AFTER Labor Day weekend; thats when school starts and no kids are really around. We payed $700 each including non-stop airfare and all-inclusive hotel right on the beach. It was great cuz there was really no crowd (the hotel was only 40% occupied!) We had only booked a month ahead of time. If you want more info FM me!
Have fun wherever you go!

thanks girls .. as of now it looks like
Either an all inclusive in Cozumel ... can anyone suggest a place to stay there? We found Occidental Grand Cozumel and Allegro Cozumel...? Any advice about either?
or a carnival cruise to the Bahamas, Freeport and Nassau ...
Has anyone cruised with Carnival on Sensation? How was the ship?

All I can say is if you go to Cozumel you HAVE to snorkel...it's amazing!

from what i know only crown princess leaves out of red hook brooklyn, but thats as far as i know so who knows. And again its a pricey cruise so if youre looking to save money then I wouldn't suggest it

I personally prefer Royal Caribbean and we have found that the ones out of Miami are the ones we liked the best. RC has a private island, Cococay which was a lot of fun and you have stops at Cozumel and Key West. We have also taken the one to Bahamas (I think out of Ft Lauderdale) and that was great too. We thought the food and service was better on RC vs. Carnival.

Re: cruise info? any advice would help!
The best cruise I ever took went to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Martinique, Barbados and Aruba :). THE BEST! It was a Carnival Cruise...I really like their cruises better than Royal Carribean...there's more to do for people our age.
The other one I really liked was Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and the Bahamas. Bahamas was awesome!
You can usually catch a deal for like $500 a person if your not picky about which week you go.
Good Luck!
P.S.- Oh and if you're looking to save $ I would personally suggest a cruise- all food's included and no hotels to pay for!

Re: cruise info? any advice would help!
actually i just checked the prices and they are less than last year, when we went it was the ships 3rd time out so maybe thats why bc their basic rooms started at $1600 then balcony and up was $2,100 and up but i looked now and its less
these are the prices:
interior= 999.00 pp oceanview= 1,198.00 pp balcony =1,499.00 pp mini suite =1,799.00 pp suite=3,099
they have great excursions, it is: Puerto Rico, turks & caicos, Bermuda, St. Thomas and its 9 days
the ship is gorgeous and like i said it is a new ship, its first excursion was in june of last year
here i'lll give you a link to the ship so you can check it out if you want
