FH and I are looking to take a cruise at the end of August, this will be our first time, and thought this would be an inexpensive way to have a HM. We are looking around the end of August, 4 night cruise to the carribean. Any suggestions or what cruise line and one that will have people our age (we are 30). Any suggestion would be helpful.

I don't know about any of the 4 day cruises, but FH and I went on a western caribbean cruise with Princess Cruise Line and it was awesome. We really loved the cruiseline, service, and the islands we visited. Good luck!

I've taken three so far...Royal Carribean, Carnival and Norwegian. In my opinion, Royal Carribean is hands down, the best there is. They have the most things to do on the ship for your days at sea and had the best service all around (dining room, room attendants, entertainment staff, cruise director, etc.). I would definitely go with them, especially for your first time...

I went on 2 cruises on Carnival. Do expect children to run around EVERYWHERE but you will have a great time, we did and FH and I are in our late 20's/30s. It's mostly a younger crowd than some of the other cruise lines. I don't know where you plan to go in the caribbean but the Carnival Inspiration, a smaller fleet goes to Cozumel and Grand Cayman from Tampa. That's 5 days. I also went on Carnival Glory which was 7 days..that one went to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize and Bahamas from Pt. Canaveral. There are many other cruises from Miami, Pt. Everglades and even from San Juan, PR. Check out Carnival's website. Carnival

The only cruise I ever took was Carnival. It was overrun with children and it was ridiculously crowded. I would look into a different line if you have the money to spend.

I think Celebrity is the best line...I've also heard really good things about Princess and Holland America. FH and I went on cruise with friends and we went on Celebrity. We are very picky about food and thought the food and service was amazing. The same friends that were with us on that cruise later went on a Royal Carribean cruise and said it wasn't as good.

I have been on both Carnival and Royal Carribean and i thnk they were both great. I think RC has a lot to do especially if you go on one of the bigger ships and I didn't feel like there was as many kids on the ship but Carnival was great too! Talk with a travel agent and they be able to help you out.

I didn't LOVE Carnival - I actually lost weight on that cruise because I didn't like any of the food-I'm kinda picky though. But it was ok, not much to do while at sea.
Royal Carribean is a litte more upscale, better food, more to do - overall just nicer, but more expensive of course.

Re: Cruise Suggestions Please
I have been on Carnival and Celebrity although Carnival was good for an end of college trip I would not recommend it for a honeymoon.....lots of really young kids and teenagers. When we went on that cruise in June we left from Puerto Rico and apparently it is a big thing there to go on a cruise after school lets out so it was overrun with kids!!! Celebrity was great but I am actually going on Royal Caribbean for my honeymoon which came HIGHLY recommended from my travel agent who never steers us wrong!!! I have also had friends go on Norweigan and like it but I think it may be an older crowd. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PLANNING!!!

I loved princess. I went on the crown princess, their new ship which is huge, and it docks out of brooklyn. There were alot of people our age, and i barely noticed alot of young children...They had their own pool area on another floor, plus there was a shole deck for children with arcades, and a bunch of other things so it was never a problem...DEF recommend it
The one i went on went to: Puerto Rico, Bermuda, St. Thomas and turks and caicos. ANd i know this year they were having the same excursions but its a 9 day cruise

Re: Cruise Suggestions Please
I love Royal Caribbean, I've cruised them a number of times.
My favorite cruise was the Southern Caribbean.
Just beware that August is hurricane season in the Caribbean so if there is a hurricane, the ports might need to be changed for passenger safety.

Re: Cruise Suggestions Please
I actually really liked Carnival. Maybe it was because it was a new boat. We went on the Valor to the western Carribean. Food was excellent (and I'm REALLY picky). Buffets only for lunch. Activities were great. It was my only cruise so far, and I've heard good things about other cruises, but with the young ages of the cruisers and the activities, I had a GREAT and relaxing time. So in short, you can't go wrong!
