crying at work !! over my bridal party drama!! cant do it anymore!! cancelling BP!
Original post by ajlgmm815
So just when I thought the drama was settled! We went to get the BP dresses and apparently my MOHZilla (my younger sis) decides to start talking crap about how she hates the dresses and she is not paying for a dress that she hates! She then got my mom to side with her and my mom is trying to convince me to let her get a different dress which i dont really have a problem with except there is a problem with every dress i have picked and its never while we are at the dress store always after. Apparently my other Moh( my other sister) and my mom exchanged words and now she wants to back out because she doesnt want to deal with my mom and sis! I really cant do this anymore! i work full tim, go to school full time and try to wedding plan with the bridal party from hell. Im over it I told my mom and my sisters That we are not going to do a BP so they can wear what ever the hell they want but know that they ruined a memorable, supposed to be beautiful event in my life!!

I decided instead of dealing with all the crap..I'm having my stepsister and sister-in-law and husbands walk down the aisle and take a seat in the first row..no gowns, flowers, etc.
My sister MOH. is being a pain in the ***..All I asked for is that she wear a gown and that was a fight. I'm letting her decide on the dress but I have final approval..FSIL is awesome..a size 0 and will do anything I want. BTW my sister is even bitching about paying to get her hair done...that is my parents problems since they will be displaying all the pics..not a fight I'm going to battle.

I think that's terrible, it's your wedding and you should be able to pick what you want. I think you should sit down and have a talk with your sister. This is one of the most imprtant days of your life and she should not be giving you a hard time. Hang in there, I am sure everything will work out.

Newsflash:: It's your wedding & your day!!! Dont let anyone stress you out and ruin it for you. If they dont like what you want and are fussing about everything then they shouldnt be involved. Dont let everything make you crazy, in the end everything will work out!!

Thank you for posting!! I think that it's your wedding and you should have whatever dresses you want! I think its a nice dress... and you shouldnt have to feel that you need to change it to make THEm happy! When its their wedding... then they can make those decisions. I had dresses that came in a color that I really didnt like too much, but was going to settle. After going back and forth with my MOH, I just decided to change it and that the dress I origionally wanted, I should go with... this made my MOH very happy and no more complaining. Is there another dress that was in mind or are you really LOVING this dress? If you are really LOVING this dress, then thats the dress that it is going to be. If they dont like it, then they dont need to participate in your special day. I wasnt LOVING my 2nd dress, which is why I went with the 1st one and LOVEEEEEEEEEEE it!!! Please just do what makes you happy... you dont want to regret this decision down the road.... I've heard so many brides regret listening to their family members and wished that they would of done what they really wanted. Do what is going to make YOU HAPPY at the end of the day... its all about YOU and your FH!

First of all, this dress is absolutely beautiful and elegant. Sorry, but we have all seen horror-show bm dresses, and this is NOT one of them.
Is she jealous, or a must-be-the-center-of-attention type? either way, this drama is really marring your engagement and planning experience. It's amazing that when it matters most to us, the people we expected to be our rocks, really let us down. Im so sorry this is going on.
Don't fight. Don't yell. She seems (from what you've written- the one with the dress gripes, well, ACTUALLY, both!) to sort of relish the fight. With people like that, (and trust me, I was one of them, until I realized this), if you refuse to engage them, it INFURIATES them. I mean, beyond anything you can imagine. And then it makes them feel horrible. SO, my suggestion is to just say, QUIETLY, AND WITH A HINT OF SADNESS:
You know, just forget it. This is really a stressful experience, and I just can't deal with it anymore. I thought you'd be really into it, but I guess I was wrong, and I'm really sorry. I'm so sad I was so wrong. Just forget about it. I really don't want to make you upset, and for some reason, it seems that this whole experience has been negative for you, and that's the last thing I wanted. You clearly don't want to stand up with me, and that's fine. I'm glad I know now. I really hope you'll still be at the wedding.
And walk away.
If she doesn't feel like the lowest piece of crap after that, then that's exactly what she is, and you are better off.
Please know, no insult intended about your sisters. I don't know them, and they may be awesome. But right now, it doesn't seem like they're being kind and supportive, and now is when you need your sisters in life. Again, no insult intended. Best of luck.
