my sister actually has this. I had no idea what it was called though. She has had a lot of scarring from torturous strep!!

She gets strep 4 times a year and has since she was about 8. Docs won't take her tonsils out.

She can squeeze them


this is gross


and empty them herself!

No, its so awful... I used to have chronic strept when I was little, so I have holes in my tonsils and randomly things can get caught in there! It is revolting. I thought maybe there was someone who could commiserate!

Oh wow, I didn't know it was that serious, i'm sorry, that must be so annoying!

I don't have that but I do have really bad tonsils. I get sick a lot and everytime I do they swell so bad that I can't eat or drink. I need them out but the doctor keeps telling me oh next time they act up...oh next time.....next time. BLAH!
The worst was when I had mono and tonsilitis at the same time....I thought I was going to die!

I had strep a lot as a kid as well and constantly got sick....i went to an ent and told him that i was always getting sick and that i had trouble breathing/swallowing (because my tonsils were pretty big too), that's why he took them out......if it was just the crypts, he said he wouldn't have done anything.

I sing, so throat surgery is totally out of the question for me, but its SO gross when food gets stuck in there

I had the worst tonsils ever and had strep about once a month even in summer. My tonsils were scared and huge even when not swollen. When they were infected they would touch in the center of my throat. I was sooooo excited when ENT finally agreed to take them out for me. I was 25.

Get those puppies out
