I really loved the second one. I had my hair half up and down with curls and she is right... they will drop, especially if it is a hot humid day.
I had half of my hair set in rollers with setting lotion... the under neath part that wasn't being worked with. The rest (the crown and sides)that was going to be pulled up and twisted, etc. was done by a curling iron, instead of being rolled because when you separate the curls and pull them up, etc.. they frizz. The curls from a curling iron dropped. I'll post some pics...
<----------the pic of my avatar was at the end of the night... you can see the difference in the curls. We got married in July and the ceremony was outside and it was humid.
I used this setting lotion called Lottabody and at first, my MOH set my whole head. I wish I had a picture, because the curls were larger and very springy and they stayed in for 2 days! The problem is that the setting lotion is like hairspray and is very hard to work with if you are going to be putting some hair up.
If not, I recommend using it. You can get it at Sally's in the ethnic hair care section. All you do is dilute the stuff with water, spray it on your hair (so your hair is wet) and roll it with regular hard rollers and secure it to your head with bobbypins. The only thing is if you don't allow the hair to dry all the way you will get the wet look. I bought a little dryer to sit under the night before and slept with the rollers in.

Re: Hair Trial Curls
I really like #2 on you. Keep in mind that even if your hair is a bit tighter in the am, it will let loose as the evening progresses. If your hair is looser in the am, it will be flat by evening.

Re: Hair Trial Curls
I really like #2. I am getting a similar style, and the curls really do need to be tighter, b/c they will drop and loosen throughout the day. Especially if you have pin striahgt hair like mine.

Re: Curls
Were both trials with the same person? If so and you're not happy with either, then switch stylists. Try someone who specializes in curls.
#1 was definitely stringy so I'd go with #2. But if you feel the curls are too tight, try with someone else.

Re: Curls
Give Sioux at Crowing Glories a call. She's a vendor on here and she seems to be a curl expert. Take a look at her site. I'm doing my trial next month and I emailed her pics of what I want and she said she can definitely do it. Give her a try.

Re: Curls
I liked the 2nd pic, and she's right, the curls will fall a bit, so better to have it tight at first! That always happens to me!

Re: Curls
This is me! My hairdresser used a big curling iron for this look and very little hairspray (since this was a trial and we wanted to try different things) and the curls lasted until the next day. I think it depends on your hair type though. I don't have naturally straight hair...it is sort of wavy and thick.

I like #2 better. It is true the curls will relax after a while.

Re: Curls
I have sort of wavy hair its not pin sttraight. my stylist used hot rollers to make my hair in loose curls. By the end of the night, it was pretty much just wavy it was a hot day

Re: Curls
Do you have layers in your hair??? All one length hair is much more difficult to achieve the look you want. All you need is the right haircut a large iron and the right products and you can get what you want.

Re: Curls
I think you should try to get it the way you want it. I agree that the curls will loosen throughout the day but most of your pictures will be taken when its pretty fresh.
JMO, but I say keep trying til you find someone who can get it the way you really want it.
