Cutting the cake

Can someone tell me which layer of a 4-tiered cake gets cut when we cut the cake? I know that we save the top tier but not sure if the bottom or 2nd layer gets cut.... I'm allergic to chocolate so we're having alternating flavors..the cut layer has to be yellow/vanilla cake and I have to tell the baker the configuration (which layer should be which flavor).

You cut the bottom - don't worry, there's someone there to tell where to cut.

i just have to be sure its the bottom bc it if its chocolate i cant eat it..

i guess i'll just have the baker make the top and bottom tiers vanilla and middle 2 tiers chocolate

Our Bridal attendant told us where to cut it that day. If you need to be specific, tell your attendant. We were told to cut the 2nd from the bottom on a 4 tier cake.
