CW0904- CB wedding review

CW0904-
I had a GREAT time at my friends wedding at the CB. The cocktail hour was just O.K though. Not too many choices but I think she cut back to have the Viennese hour in the end. Let me say that has been the BEST dessert hour I have ever seen. The food was really good. I had the meat and FI had the Salmon. She had the upstairs room that holds like 350 people. Not the one where the floor comes up. The DJ kept things flowing very nicely. The only reason I did not pick the CB to get married is because even though I think the place is great I don't like the fact that it is so dark. Her receptin was very dark (just be aware of this). All that mahogany wood effects the place. I think she knew this so her centerpieces were tall roses on a glass pedestal that layed on a square mirror with tea light candles. The fact that the candles reflected off of the mirror lightened things up a bit which was good. Hope this helps

Re: Thanks Curly2003!!

I have the same room you were in. You are right the room is slightly dark. Her centerpieces sound like a good idea-the candles. I wanted to something similar to brighten up the room too.
I am glad to hear the food was great. We chose to have a huge cocktail hour instead of a viennese (sp?). Our guests are not into sweets. So it worked out better for us.
Question: when you said there wasn't that much at the cocktail hour, what did they have? Did she have seat covers? I don't know if you looked at the chairs like I have been pondering over, but do you think they need seat covers? I haven't been there in so long and since my wedding isn't for sometime, I can hold off.
Thanks again for the review!!! Glad to hear you had a good time.

Re: Thanks Curly2003!!

Don't get me wrong. They had alot at the cocktail hour but not alot of entrees. They had the lavish display of fruits and chesses and breads but had like 4 entrees. A veal, rice, sausages and calamari. People were just kind of wandering around mingling during the cocktail hour and I really didn't notice the chairs. I know they were burgundy. I don't think you need them for 1 hour. She didn't have them in the main room either. I hope this helps.
