Dad & Step-Dad- HELP!

Hi Girls, I need your help. I am getting married this October and since my mother raised me when my dad left, I am having her give me away as well as dancing with her at the reception. However, my father is some-what in my life now and I have a Step-father. Is their anything else I can do to include them in some way. I fell my mother deserves most of the honor of that day but didn't want them to feel totaly left out. Any suggestions would be great. =)

I think just them being there is honor enough. My mother raised me alone , and my father wants nothing to do with me. I am not inviting him to my wedding , but I havent talked to him for 18 years... But if your father choose not to be in a part of your life , well now he is seeing the consequences of his actions. It is your day , and your mom was always there !! Just like mine. So your father / step father should respect your decision. My mother always filled both roles of mother and father , and she will do the same on my wedding... :)

I think that it is really nice to want to share your day with all of your parents. Perhaps you could dance with your father. You do not have to pick a very mushy song, but maybe it is the beginning of healing your relationship. You could ask your step father to do a reading or make a toast. Weddings are a new beginning, so I think it is the perfect time to honor those that have always stuck by you, and those you want to make amends.

Thanks, I guess I just wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. Your right! If my dad was always in my life, tradition has all the honor go to the dad so I might as well just have my mom take that honor, god knows she deserves it. Thanks again =)
