Dana Reeve, widow of actor Christopher Reeve, has died of lung cancer, The Associated Press reports.

This is an extremely sad news...44 years old...so young...Im trying to convince my FH in every possible way to stop smoking...he smokes so much and I dont even want to think about if something bad was to happen to him. My aunt is going through lung cancer as we speak...48 years old and a smoker for over 30 years...

Smoking is no good at all. Keep trying to convince them to stop.

Just remember Dana Reeves wasn't a smoker.

Thanks for letting me know that she was not a smoker. Usually when people hear of lung cancer including myself you start to think that the person is a smoker.

I heard about this on my way into work. It is so sad. I feel incredibly bad for their teenage son. She seemed like such an amazing individual - so strong! Life is not fair sometimes.

I remember her on Oprah saying I'm going to beat it. Who knew she would actually die. This is so horrible...

This is very sad, and very scary. Both my parents smoke and I live with them. Not only am I concerned about their health but I am also concerned about mine.

Lots of thoughts and prayers to the Reeve family.

I seriously got choked up when I read about her death this morning. It's so sad...their poor son. Both parents gone within a year and a half of one another.
