Re: Dance Lessons/
We are taking lessons with John of Ballroom Dance Long Island (a vendor here). We take lessons in both Valley Stream and Garden City with him. He offers a free introductory 1/2 hour lesson so that you can see if you'll want additional lessons.

We also used John from Ballroom Dance LI. We LOVED him--he was one of my favorite vendors. I have pictures posted of our first dance in my review.

Is it $75 per lesson per couple? Did your DH want to go or did you have to take him in kicking and screaming? How many times do you need to go for it to stick?

Re: Dance Lessons/
We went to Metropolitan in Garden City.
There are I think 6 different packages...
I think this is the cheapest package... I am not sure b/c we didn't choose it...
8 sessions total for $280.00
2 (45 min) Private
4 (45 min) Group
and I don't know what else b/c it says 8 sessions but that only adds up to 6...
Again, That is not the package we chose so I am not sure what else is included with that one.
Good luck!
BTW... IT WAS A BLAST!

Re: Dance Lessons/
There was this couple there, They reminded me of my FH parents... around their age...
They just started taking lessons a month and a half ago... and they were sooooo good!!!
They said they really didn't know how to dance b/4 that.
It was pretty funny... on the application it was like
What are your expectations after coming out of your lessons? (or something like that)
Wedding_________ For Fun__________ Competitors Dancing __________
I marked off Competition dancing... HAHAHAHHAHAH
After the man saw us dance he obviously knew we were kidding.
