Just polling how many of us are doing the dance lessons, and where?
Thanks

Re: Dance Lessons
No dance lessons here. FH and I are pretty good dancers, we know what we're doing on the dance floor Not many dances we need to learn anyway, we're pretty good at polkas and waltzes, which is all we'll need to know anyway.
My family on the other hand will need some lessons!

Re: Dance Lessons
We are planning on it also (although FH has me sworn to secrecy so he doesn't get harrassed by his friends!). I don't want to be swaying back and forth like two ducks with all our family and friends watching!

Re: Dance Lessons
I guess I am asking b/c FH is against them claiming that they're a waste of $$$, etc. So we need to decide how to fit them into the budget. We're debating b/w learning a basic dance in a group lesson setting vs. a few (5 or so) private lessons.

Re: Dance Lessons
Just had our first lesson on Sat! Arthur Murray in Bayside.
It was a lot of fun (for me) FH got frustrated bc he couldn't pick it up quick..oh well hopefully the next lesson he will be better.

Re: Dance Lessons
Alina, fred astaire offers packages that include both private and group lessons (for instance, 2 private and 4 group). We, think it's good b/c you have a private and learn the basic steps and then you go to a group and really start to practice rather than wasting private lessons on practicing as opposed to actual instruction. It's still expensive so just take a free trial and see if you guys even really like it.

Re: Dance Lessons
We plan to get them but not sure where yet.
On a funny side note: we went to a wedding labor day weekend and when the bride and groom began their first dance I could tell they took lessons...not because they were great dancers but because I could see the concentration on the groom's face - and I could swear I saw him counting his steps!

Re: Dance Lessons
Absolutely doing lessons, I don't want FH stepping on my feet or dress. Can't help with location though I am out of state.

Re: Dance Lessons
We would like to, but I am not sure were it fits into our budget? So its really still a big question mark with us. We'll probably look at our budget in like 2 months & make a deceison then.

Re: Dance Lessons
get this, my parents are taking dance lessons for my wedding! they're so cute!! i believe east meadow school district ( & many others, i would guess) offers a night/adult ed. program with a dance class for several weeks. its probably a lot more affordable than a dance studio. i can't wait to see them at the wedding!

Re: Dance Lessons
We are taking them thru the local adult ed in our school district, we saved a lot of money instead of going to a big name school. We got 20 hours 1 time a week for 49.00 a person. We priced out the big name places and thought we would do better in a small class , close to home, and a lot less $$$.
