Dances??????

At a 'regular' wedding you would just dance with your father. I am extremely close with my mother and have decided that I will dance with my father first and then dance with my mom. But ultimately it's your wedding so do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Yes, thats what I kind of want to do.... but I dont want people being like UGHHHHH enough already lol

i'm actually thinking of that too...i'm not sure how to fit in??? i think i'll do the traditional dance with my dad first and then dance with my mom later in the evening...??? still not sure

ITA, I'm going to wait until later in the night to dance with my mom so that it doesn't seem like the dances are dragging on :)

Unless you feel you have to stick to the standard wedding traditions, anything goes. Usually the bride dances with her father only.. but i think im going to dance w/ my father and then in the middle of the song dance with my mom. She raised me and my sister as a single mom so I wanted to honor her as well...

I am doing something different to honor my mom. Instead of doing the bouquet toss, I am going to give my mom the flowers and give a little speech about how she was the one who taught me how to love and be loved, etc, etc.

Okay I think I'm way too emotional because I just got teary eyed reading that!! I would love to do that for my mom but I don't think i could make it through the speech. I want to dance with my mom because we've always been so close and we even have a song 'I'll stand by you' by the pretenders. But when I think about dancing with her I cry, when I think about asking her to dance with me I cry, when I hear the song on the radio I cry. I'm seeing a trend here

I am going to dance with my dad and then with my mom but I felt like I didn't want it to be too long so you can tell your dj to just play half of the song then fade out and go on with the song for your mom.
