For those of you that will have a DJ or band, do you plan on dancing a lot at your reception? My Fh just informed me that he won't be dancing much. When I asked why he said he will probably be talking to guest. Isn't this day about us? Sorry, I think I am in meltdown mode this morning.

Re: Dancing at the reception
FH isn't much of a dancer at all..so he has to dance every slow song with me. We are going to chat with the guests, but I'll be doing dancing even if he isn't.
IT is a day about us, but I'm more of a dancer and he isn't and never has been. So knowing that I'm not forcing the dancing issue.

Re: Dancing at the reception
I plan on interacting with the guest as well, I guess I was just upset because it is our day and he plans on entertaining everyone else. I just want him to understand the focus is on the two of us and, they will dance if they want to interact with us more! I think I am just overstressed right now only 40 days to go, I am trying to be good and not get so tense, I am glad I found you girls, you rock!

Re: Dancing at the reception
Hell yeh we're dancing, it's our party!!!! We'll say our hellos at the CH and at the beginning, but then it's all about us, really! At his sister's wedding last year, his entire family was on the dance floor non-stop..the only time they did stop was to eat! I want to do the same.

Re: Dancing at the reception
I would like to think that FH and I would be dancing the night away. We are attending our cocktail hour so that should take care of the guest mixing and mingling we have to do. We also will probably have a receiving line at the church which should cut down on the necessary greeting as well.

Re: Dancing at the reception
My friend used to be a bridal attendant and she suggested you talk to your guests during the cocktail hour and enjoy the rest of your wedding! It's you day, enjoy it!

This is why we extended our cocktail hour. FH and I love to dance so we are going to make sure we have a lot of time to dance

FH isn't much of a dancer, but he will be on the dance floor. I'll probably be dancing more than him though.

Re: Dancing at the reception
we do plan on dancing alot , i know a lot of place do things differently, but we have decided to mingle with our guest during cocktail hour instead of statying in the private room, that we we can spend some time with them, but also enjoy ourselves and have a good time

Me three!! I couldn't get all my friends and family off the dance floor anyway so that will be where I have to mingle with them anyway. Two weddings in a row we have had the DJ's tell us that at times we actually have to leave the dancefloor (things like speeches and food)

Re: Dancing at the reception
I hope to dance a lot, and so does FH. You can talk to guests during cocktail hour and the entre time, but the music will probably be loud enough to not allow for 'normal' conversation during the rest of the time anyway

FH and I aren't dance crazy, so we'll probably be doing a good mix of both
