Re: Dante's in Queens
I don't know much about Dante's but I wanted to throw out another option since we can always use them when making a choice- Riccardo's by the Bridge.
I'm having my shower there in the Cyprus room- lots of crystal, lots of light in the room- really nice and it's $27 pp with unlimited wine and champagne, dinner and cake. I'm sure they have great pricing for a reception. Astoria Park is down the block for photos. I've been there for events and the food is always good.

Thanks but it'll probably be higher for a night wedding on a Saturday though right? Like i want to spend up to $48 pp.

I'm pretty sure you can get there....it's worthwhile to meet with them and see what they can do. There's a bride that wrote a great review- she got married at Riccardo's. Search under her Riccardo's and/or Shira Z (That was her photographer).
Friday night will also help you save some dough...with enough notice people will take the day off and then have the entire weekend to recover

Re: Dante's in Queens
I went to look at both and was not happy with either. No offense to the brides here who have had theri wedding at either. Let me explain myself:
Riccardo's- great price, I was quoted 39pp plus tax and gratuity, came in at around $48 for a friday night in August, with cocktail hr, open bar, valet parking, linens, cake, etc. I had 85 people and was offered 2 rooms, which I did not like (I almost went with one of the- the pink room by the main door). However, the day I went to sign my contract, there where so many people entering parties and it seemed soooo disorganized that I got scared. The food is good for the price. I went to a wedding there 2 yrs ago in the big room and they did a great job.
Dante's- outdated, their gratuity is 26%!!! and if you see the decor you wonder what they are doing with that money? I was quoted 36 pp plus tax and that outrageous gratuity- never been to an event there, but it turned me off.
I will give you another 2 choices, La Bella Vita, my price came in at a littel over what you are looking for, and the food and service is great. Also check out Villa Russo, with wine and beer it comes in at under $50 with tax and gratuity
Good luck!

I agree, I've been to both Riccardo's a couple of times and also Dante's. Riccardo's lobby area is very very small so keep that in mind, bc there isn't much of a lobby area and wont be alot of room for guests when they are going to different rooms. This is definitely why it was crowded this way.
Dante's definitely is bigger and the inside looks a bit more like a wedding catering hall.
I agree with Villa Russo. Also not sure how much it is but theres also crystal palace in astoria, Bruno's also has more of a wedding look than alot of the other places not sure about price though.

Brunos! That's right. I've been- food was good and it was spacious....I believe they are priced similar to Riccardos. Astoria World Manor also- though they do have these statues outside But inside it's nice.
Get out to Astoria- have a look around and then treat yourselves to a nice dinner It will be fun.

Re: Dante's in Queens
I am getting married at Riccardos by the Bridge. I am having a Sat afternoon buffet for $39 a head. When I booked it they threw in 2 carving stations and extra types of top shelf liquor that they do not usually have on the bar for N/C. I found them very accomodating. i am doing a food tasting in January and its in my contract that if I dont like the food and want to canc. I will get my whole dep back. Its a nice place but without all the extra glitter. If you are looking for glitter nd chandeliers its not the place for you though. Dantes- my office has all the holiday and retirement parties there. The food is good and is very reasonable. But I decided against it because I wanted someplace else, somewhere I do go to 3 times a year.
