Just wondering ... Did you gals pick your wedding date because it had some sort of meaning?? Was it random?? Cost??
I read some where that it should be meaningful ... but logically I thought any day was fine and after the wedding it would magically be deemed meaningful
BTW mine was chosen because its my FH dad's b-day (what a great way to celebrate) and its a perfect block of time (before presidents day) and every year we can have a mini vaca in Feb. for our anniversary

I picked my date because its my grandma's birthday and her anniversary. She passed a few years ago and its nice to feel like she'll be there based on this. I LOVE that I'm getting married on the same day as her.

We choose the date because it was less expensive but because the wedding will end on June 18 and that is the day that he ask me out, back 8 years ago.
The RC stars at 8:30P.M and finish at 1:30 A.M June 18 is going to be our 9 years together so we are going to make a at 12.

ours was totally random. no meaning whatsoever. My dads bday was the next weekend and we could have had it then, but I didn't want my wedding to overshadow my dad's bday. July 4th was the weekend before and we didn't want to ruin anyones travel plans. June was out for several BP members and August may be hot and muggy, so we decided on July 9th.

No special meaning. I am a teacher but FH didnt want to get married over the summer because it is too hot for him! So decided on May and my parents wanted a Saturday night, but the church has communion the first 2 weeks of May and We didn't want Memorial Day weekend since so many people go away, so that's how we decided on the 21st

no special meaning. I wanted to do it in may before my bday and turned 30 but the dates weren't available and we didn't want to do it any earlier. So we pushed it to June... then pushed it another week in June b/c my church wasn't available on our original date. Thank goodness the RH was flexible AND available!

our anniversary is the 10th...of every month if you do thatt...we originally wanted to get married on our actually anniversary jan 10th but my mom talked me out of a January wedding, so we tried to pick a date close to it, and 15 was always my number when i played sports, sooo i liked it!

I wanted a wedding and an anniversary date that wasn't near holidays, wasn't near the clusterfck of birthdays in our families at the beginning of the year, and I didn't want it in the dead middle of summer.
So I chose Sept. I knew I wanted Satnight. Then, within Sept, it couldn't be Labor Day weekend, my parents anniversary (they're split up) and the last weekend was getting too far into fal for me. So I chose the 24th.
When I signed onto TheKnot.com adter getting engaged, I realized that when I had made my account years before when Iw as fooling around, I had chosen that same date without realizing it.
Then my mom told me it was my grandma's birthday... which I never realized. So I feel like I was being guided to that day.
It's very special to me. When we were booking the RH, I already had that date picked and I was not wavering from it. It's perfect.

We also went with the idea of avoiding holidays and our birthdays, and since FH will be finishing grad school we wanted to have the wedding just after that so that we can honeymoon stress-free. We ended up picking his grandma's birthday though (and it will also be another of our guests birthdays!) Is anyone doing something special for all the birthdays at their wedding? I'm wondering if we should do a toast or a dance or something....

I wanted memorial day weekend because my parents got married on memorial day weekend.. They got married the 27th of May in 1979, but because we want a Saturday wedding, we will be getting married the 28th.. We are honoring them at the wedding by playing their wedding song and announcing that they are married 32 years as of yesterday.. They have no idea I'm doing that, super excited
Oh, and also, I thought I was finishing grad school May 6th, 2011 so I had wanted to give myself some time between finishing and the wedding.. turns out it didnt matter anyway cause I'm finishing dec 2010 instead! lol

Basically our reasons - FH is a teacher and I didnt want the summer b/c i sweat when its snowing. but we wanted a spring wedding and we liked memorial day weekend w/ we really wanted the Sunday to cut costs and people wouldnt have to take time off from work. but that date was already taken so we went w/ the saturday.
it just so happens to be 2 days after my bday - which we knew would happens since we were always looking for memorial day weekend

I picked 3-11 because my mom passed away 2 1/2 yrs ago and that date was my parents anniversary (their were 40 yrs together) so I want to keep the date alive, and it brought them a lot of luck, and I'm sure it will for us too !
