david's bridal?????
I dont' want to spend a lot of money on a wedding dress...less than $1000, should i just go to david's bridal or are there other bridal shops with inexpensive dresses. I dont want to go to a shop and fall in love with something expensive.

Re: david's bridal?????
I bought my dress as a sample...I saved alot of money doing it thos way. Davids has some beautiful gowns, but if you don't find anything you like, don't limit yourself because of the budget. There are other ways...
Sample came from Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook, on Merrick Road.

GO TO AVIC in BAYSIDE, Queens..All my firends have gotten thier dress there as well as their bM dresses. I am going to go there, it is just too early for me.
They are on Northern Blvd by Pier 1 Imports.

Re: david's bridal?????
I was the same way... I did not want to spend more than $1000 myself. I originally went to Davids and I was gonna get a dress there. But then I went to Flowerama in elmont and got a dress for $750... I just told the lady who helped me that I did not want to spend over $1000... they were really nice!

Re: david's bridal?????
You could also look around and try on things at the bridal salons, then if you find something you love, you can get a quote from Pearl's Place or Netbride online... they are usually a few hundred dollars less that what the salons will charge you! You'll just need to have it altered on your own, but I think the savings is more than worth it!I tried on a lot of dresses but wound up buying my Maggie Sottero from Netbride.. it was AT LEAST $300 less than what the salon wanted.

If you can get to Brooklyn, Lestan's and Alisa's Bridal both have reasonably priced gowns.

There are a lot of horror stories about David's, and a lot of good things on the other side as well.
I used to work there and I've had my share of experiences. My own buying experience was honestly AWFUL. They do have beautiful dresses, and I love mine, but Maggie Sottero makes one similar to mine that I kinda like a little better (oh well, nothing I can do now) that was probably less expensive.
Go shopping, there are PLENTY of dresses in many stores for less than $1000!!!

Re: david's bridal?????
I'm also recommending the Wedding Center and if you're comfortable enough with online ordering checkout BrideSave after you'ev found a dress you like. I just ordered mine and saved a little over $200.

Re: david's bridal?????
There are a lot of designers who cost a lot less the 1000, ex: Alfred Angelo and Mary's/PC Mary's. Go shopping and tell the person helping you your budget. My sister had a very negative experience at Davids (the one in Carl Place and in Penn). Please FM me for details.Welcome New Vendors
