David's Bridal Alterations
Hi Ladies. My question is for those who have purchased dresses from David's Bridal did you do the alterations there as well? If so, was the work up to your standards. I have heard mixed reviews about the quality of their service.
I live in the Bronx, and work in Manhattan so if you can suggest a great seamstress that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Re: David's Bridal Alterations
Try Karin Yngeswatter, she is in Astoria, and her contact info has been posted gazzilion of times on the boards... It took me 20-25 min's to get to her on NR train from the rockefeller ctr, where I work.I also ordered the dress from david's bridal, but it hasn't come in yet, I just went to Karin for a consultation.

Re: David's Bridal Alterations
I bought my dress from Davids Bridal but I took it somewhere else for alterations. I had heard some stories about Davids alterations so I decided not to take any chances with them.

Re: David's Bridal Alterations
My BM's got there dresses there and it was a hard time to even schedule a fitting for them. They said 1 month it would take just for a hem three weeks to my wedding. The girls went out and got the alterations done elsewhere and it only took a couple of days of waiting. Everything came out great!

Re: David's Bridal Alterations
I'm doing the same because of the horror stories I have heard too and besides they are too far away from me in Suffolk county. PLUS I got to leave the store WITH my dress the day I bought it
Im still searching fora seamstress in my area that will do the alterations.

Good point, Jennbaby, I'll have to investigate that. Once I bring my dress to Karin, I'll ask her, she may know some people in Astoria...Welcome New Vendors
