DAVIDS BRIDAL

SO, tonight I went to pick up my gown. I get it and it has stains on it, is falling apart and is missing the closure. I was under the impression that I had ordered a NEW dress. Turns out that their policy is that if your dress isn't in the warehouse they call around to stores and ship you a sample dress. They completely misrepresented that fact to me and made me believe that I had a new dress in my hand. While I was in the store there were at least 4 other brides who were having issues. They have reordered my dress and I am really hoping that I will get the new dress that I ordered and paid for! I will be bringing my dress somewhere else for alterations and am no longer planning on ordering bridesmaid dresses at this store!!!

wow that is horrible some of those dresses r in such bad shape when u try them on with make up and stuff all over them..id be pi**ed!! hope everything works out!!

Thanks for the tip, I am planning on going there and will make sure I advise them if i order a dress there that i expect it to be brand new

I didn't know they do that! That is terriable! Why would they think anybody would be happy with a dirty sample dress?? Hope it all works out for you!

David's bridal is so weird. I think that each may be independently owned so it's a crapshoot if you'll get great customer service or not. I hope you get your dress and it's in proper condition.

Phew, makes me feel better knowing I didn't go there! I'm so sorry you have to go through this.
All these horror stories about wrong or ruined dresses makes me really nervous for when mine finally comes in...

First off, I would NEVER buy a gown from there. However, my girls did try on BM dresses there, and I heard horrific stories about their alterations. I am now looking for the similar dress for them elsewhere. I can't be bothered with there neglect, and lack od customer service. What a headache that place is!!

I walked into the one in Westbury looking for fg dresses & was turned off b/c the dresses I looked at had frayed edges and the bows were dingy looking and I was just turned off...

They tried to give me the try on gown... (sample i gues youd say) i demanded they order me a new one that day and they did.. only took three weeks to come in.. and it was wrapped from the warehouse/mauf. whereever they get it from...

I visited the David Bridal in Westchester and will NEVER go back. I ordered a dress from them. I was never called to pick it up, so finally I called them and they told me I already picked up my dress! They gave my dress to someone else and tried to tell me that i signed for it. I demanded to see my signature and they could not provide it for me. Fortunately, I was able to buy another dress from a better Mom and Pop bridal salon, however, Davids Bridal would not give me my money back so I was forced to use the $800 credit. I agree that each store is different, but the majority of them are horrendous. I am so sorry you went through that, I truly feel for you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your problem with Davids I just ordered my dress from them on Friday. I went to the store on Northern Blvd.
I have to say, if my dress comes back looking like the cat bought it in, you will all see me on the 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 news.

I'll keep you guys posted.

What store did you go to?

Wow, so sorry to hear you had a rought time with them. I hope you get the issue taken care of and yes definitely bring your dress to get altered elsewhere!! Try Lillette's for yoiur BM dresses they are very nice and VERY professional there, Ask for Lydia, she is the store manager and is very knowledgable.. FM me if you want their number or address.

I am sorry that happened to you So far I haven't had any problems with the one in Westbury. However, I haven't had any alterations done yet.

Thanks everyone, I'm not totally freaking out yet because I still have some time. If you ordered your dress from there request that it not be opened, you want to get the dress in the original packaging from the manufacturer. I am planning on going elsewhere at this point for my bridesmaid dresses and alterations. Just not what I expected when I went to pick up my dress.

Also they never called me to tell me my dress was in, I called them...

What a nightmare! you still have 6 months left before the wedding, why don't you get your money back and order the dress somewhere else. My friend ordered her drss from RK bridal less than 6 months before her wedding.

Im really sorry to hear that, I have purchased dresses from them in the past... with no troubles...

BUT, I went looking with my sister for BM dresses and NO ONE HELPED US AT ALL..... it was HORRIBLE........

Then the kicker...... when we were done trying the dresses on...... they said... 'We are really short staffed... could you please put those dresses back on the racks where they belong'????

We asked 3 times for help and no one came over, then they asked us to put all of the dresses back...... I was furious...
