Davids Bridal Westbury...any tips or warnings?

I have an appointment tomorrow at Davids Bridal in Westbury. I've printed out the 7 dresses i want to try on and my bridesmaids are coming with to try on dresses themselves too.

Is there anything about that location i should be warned about? I hear alot of stories about Davids Bridal and its kinda scary. I want to be able to get a dress there 2moro, should i use their alterations if i do? or go elsewhere?

What time is your appointment? They get crazy there on the weekends. I always try to get there as early as possible. If you give them the list they will pull them for you. I have no complaints with the consultants I saw (ask for Nina if she is there) the alterations lady I dealt with is a whole different story! I ordered my dress in the size she recommended and now that it's here she tried to tell me that was not what she said. She tried to tell me she couldn't fix on of the issues I had, even though she originally said she could. Bottom line, I am getting what I want but she was very discouraging. My mom said she probably just didn't want to do the extra work to make it the way I wanted.
Oh, FYI, my dress was supposed to come in the beginning of May and it is here already. It only took 2 weeks and they don't hold them, so you have to go pick it up.
Good luck! They have a lot of beautiful dresses.

I've had a million times better experience at the DB in Massapequa Park. It is smaller though but carry the same items and is never ever crowded and has more dressing rooms too. I had a hard time just getting someone to stay on the phone with me at the Westbury one because it gets to be insanity in there and they were super b*tchy :/

i have an appointment next week saturday...the lady on the phone was very sweet and warned me about shopping there on the weekend...she said it is extremely busy and you will have to share bridal consultants. i made my appointment at 10am and she said it wont be that bad. the rush starts at 12!!

Well i got 7 dresses i picked out. I only care about her giving me the dresses i want to try on...if i need help i'll send my MOH to find someone.

I'm not too worried about being waited on hand and foot...i know its a chain store its not gonna be personal service like a boutique. Just as long as i try on what i want and i'll find someone if i want to purchase.

UGH

I fyou wind up ordering there and they tell you the dresses will be in in 6 weeks, call them in 5. If they aren't in yet, call them weekly until they are there because, apparently, they won't call YOU.

And when you go to pick them up, if you're expeting to need alterations, make sure you ask to try the dress on and ask about alterations because my dress was shoved in my face and I wasn't even told have a nice day. I had my BM dress altered elsewhere (and all it needed was the bust taken in a half in on each side)

yeah, the down side is that they don't hold the dress, I got mine in two weeks......

i went there really late at night, and no one was there....i heard the weekends are a mad house though and they can be more rushed then.
