I am wondering if it is really necessary to do this. I am extremely unorganized and I procrastinate in the extreme, and just looking at some of the to-do lists on here makes me want to run away screaming...still, a DOC is extra money that I may or may not have...I'm considering Amanda from Amanda Barbara Events since she's already helping me out with decor, and I know she's amazing, but I'm really trying to justify the expense. I already dropped the ball with the invites and I just know I'm going to mess something else up, even though I'm a teacher and the school year is just about over. I almost feel like even the extra time in the summer isn't going to be enough for me.
Thoughts? Advice?

Re: Day of Coordinator?
If you're going to stress out, the money you spend on a DOC will be worth it. In the scheme of the cost of a LI wedding, it's a small price to pay for sanity. HTH

Re: Day of Coordinator?
I have a DOC (a modern day affair) & justified it to FH by saying I don't want to stress or worry on our wedding day. I want to feel like a guest & a DOC will help with that.

It's a small price to pay not to be stress out on the biggest day of your life. I hired cheeky glam because I'm 3 hours away from LI. IMO it's money well spent.

Re: Day of Coordinator?
I didnt need one at all. You just have to delegate the day of tasks to your BMs, MOH and/or mother. That is what they are there for, besides to be by your side to celebrate.
If you have a good reception venue with a good maitre'd and bridal attendant, you will def not need one...mine took care of everything!

We are using a Modern Day Affair. Laura is super nice and its not as expensive as you may think. You can elect people of your bridal party to help you however we wanted them to just enjoy the wedding and have a great time! I feel like with a DOC I wont have to worry about anything. You pay all this money for a wedding whats another few hundred to enjoy it?

Re: Day of Coordinator?
I was the person who never thought I would need a DOC but I hired Once Upon an Event towards the end of wedding planning and it was seriously the best decision ever!!!! they took away every bit of stress from me, my BMs, my parents and everyone was able to enjoy the wedding rather than run around

Re: Day of Coordinator?
Im having a Sunday afternoon wedding. We are starting pics at about 930 in the morning. There is no time to get to the RH early to set up. Im really considering hiring a DOC so they can set everything up the way I want it.

Re: Day of Coordinator?
We didn't have the budget for a DOC, and honestly the day of our wedding I didn't feel it was really needed. My MOH was a huge help though. She handed out all the tips the day of, I could not have gotten through the day without her. If you have a great support system, then your friends and family will help you with all you need. Or if budget is not an issue then I say do it, extra help can never be a bad thing.

This all the way. AMDA was a life saver on my big day! You have to remember that DOC's have copies of all your contracts. even with the BEST Maitre D and Bridal attendants, they will not help you with other vendors only RH related issues.

I used Cheeky Glam and it was so worth it!!!! I am a very organized person and still just to have them there and to know my wedding inside and out with what I wanted was a huge relief when dealing with all these vendors.
