Which day of the week is everyone getting married? My FH and I started to look at RHs and I really don't think we can afford a Sat night. I was thinking maybe a Sunday night and FH would want a Friday night. Friday night is good bc people can stay later but they would probably also get there later. Sunday night I think people would leave early. Any suggestions????

We are doing a Friday night. Ceremony starts at 6:30, then CH 7-8, then reception with VH 8 - 1am
ETA: I'd rather do a Friday than a Sunday just b/c I feel like I can let loose more...booze it up lol FH & I want a party atmosphere and I feel like Friday is a good party night (JMHO of course )

Re: Day of the week
we are doing a sunday night, but it is the sunday of memorial day weekend so everyone has off the next day! we got a sunday night rate and got the benefit of not having work the next day. If possible look into holiday weekends. HTH!
i dont know if you are set on November, but if you are consider the friday after thanksgiving - you can start earlier or even if you dont start ealrier, most people wont have to come late!

Mongie--you are right about Friday night being more of a party night. i want people to have fun and not worry about getting home. it's such a difficult decision bc in the end, you can never make everyone happy. My only concern with a Friday night is traffic and whether or not people would be able to come to the church.

We are doing a Sunday afternoon...the whole thing will be over by 8pm. I feel like that is good so that people can still party and have fun and not feel like they have to leave early because they have work the next day. :)

We are doing Saturday afternoon...we thought it would be easier so our guests (for the most part) don't have to worry about leaving work early on Fri.

Re: Day of the week
sunday night in the summer... a lot of my family/friends are teachers so thats not a problem and we're having a lot of out of town guests too so if we did it on a friday then that would mean they have to take off more days from work anyway... look at your guests and what would work the best for you, everyones situation is different

Re: Day of the week
we are doing a THURSDAY night in July. Saturday was too expensive and many of our guests re teachers or are self employed. We gave people a year to know that it is a thursday so those who need to can take the day off and still have the weekend to themselves. Our guests said they preferred the thursday over a sunday. It would be easier to take off friday or muddle thru one day than to go thru a whole week. We are having our summer wedding at a spring time price.... THursday is getting very popular... price out the difference...
