Which day of the week is everyone getting married? My FH and I started to look at RHs and I really don't think we can afford a Sat night. I was thinking maybe a Sunday night and FH would want a Friday night. Friday night is good bc people can stay later but they would probably also get there later. Sunday night I think people would leave early. Any suggestions????

Re: Day of the week
We're doing a Saturday night in December...we were able to negotiate the price and the minimum in order to make that possible, plus FIL's are helping with the RH because they were insistent that we have a Sat night over a Friday or Sunday because they didn't want the family to be inconvenienced. It's kind of backfired in our faces because even though the price and minimum is lower than it would have been for another time of the year, it's still a decent amount and we're not meeting our minimum, so yes, we have the night we wanted, but we're paying dearly for ghosts.

Re: Day of the week
I am doing a Sunday night in June. Sunday night weddings usually end by 11pm so if you are from the area most people will stay or make it a long weekend and take Monday off. I have been to a couple of Sunday weddings and most of the guest are there until the end. Friday night the same. People will take the day off from work or leave early to get to your wedding. In the end you have to do what is best for you and your budget.

Re: Day of the week
We did a Sunday afternoon for 2 reasons...one was that we wanted our wedding on the water and we wanted ppl to be able to see it lol...another was so that ppl could come and not have to worry about getting up for work the next day. We found out later that it was a lot less money to do it on a Sunday so that made us even more sure

Re: Day of the week
Sunday night. From my experience, it all depends where you have your wedding, on what would be cheaper. OBV saturday night being the most expensive is given. But when looking at halls, some places have told me it dosent matter really at all, with Friday and Sunday night, some have said, Sunday night is more than Friday night. So again, it all depends on the hall, month, and holiday weekend or not. Also, whatever your budget is, or whatever day it is, the only ones who matter at the end is family and close friends. Regardless if you have a million dollar wedding or 30,000 dollar wedding, people give their opinions. They rate the food, if not the food, the day of the week, location, and so on...

Sat evening but we chose a place with a smaller min so it wouldn't be too expensive.

Re: Day of the week
we are doing a sunday - church at 3 CH at 6. I was personally afraid that not many would be able to make it to church on a Friday since most people work and I wouldn't want people to have to take off! The VH starts at 10:30ish so if people want to leave 10:30, I still think its pretty early enough to be able to wake up in the morning!

Re: Day of the week
ours is a Friday night. Our ceremony is at 2:30 in the afternoon, which i know most people will not be able to attend. i like Friday weddings more then Sunday weddings because i can make a long weekend out of it.
we just went to a Friday night wedding this past weekend. we took off work on Friday. my alarm was going off saturday morning for breakfast (we stayed at the hotel) and all i kept thinking while i was laying there hungover, was thank goodness its only Saturday! we have more time to recover!

Re: Day of the week
Haha everyone seems to want to weigh in so here is my two cents.
We are doing a Saturday night the first weekend in November. As others have said. Saturday night prices drop between Nov and March. I wanted an October wedding but when I thought about it there was no real difference between the end of October and the beginning of November.
Also some places do twilight weddings on Sunday. This way people will stay for the whole party!
Good luck!

we are doing a THURSDAY night in July. Saturday was too expensive and many of our guests re teachers or are self employed. We gave people a year to know that it is a thursday so those who need to can take the day off and still have the weekend to themselves. Our guests said they preferred the thursday over a sunday. It would be easier to take off friday or muddle thru one day than to go thru a whole week. We are having our summer wedding at a spring time price.... THursday is getting very popular... price out the difference...
I'm doing the same
