my FH and i have decided to have a daytime wedding/reception. it just seemed natural to us, since it is less expensive and we plan to get married in May (which is a pricey time of year to begin with)....but i have been having doubts about it, since our RH has big open windows and a sky light. i am worried it will be too bright and we really want people to get down and party. anyone have a list of positives about daytime weddings that might make me feel better.

i had a daytime wedding at the thatched cottage- and one side of the entire rh was all windows- it was GORGEOUS
plus, the gardens are spectacular and u cant enjoy that at night!
I totally think it was better - especially at the thatched.
plus we had a beach ceremony- we had it in the morning so it wouldnt be too hot during the day!

My cousin was married during the day and we all partied hard! It was great!
Don't worry, everyone will have fun!
Their ballroom also had huge windows, and it was absolutely beautiful to have the sun shining through them!

I am having a daytime wedding at CLM and the room is all windows. It will be great!!!
People will party no matter what! I find daytime a little different b/c most people have them at night. and May is a beautiful month!
Does your place have an outside for cocktail hour? thats a nice extra too.
and a daytime wedding you have the night to party more!!!

it's all about the crowd. i went to a daytime wedding that was painfully boring and it had NOTHING to do with the time of day----if it had been at night with the same crowd it STILL would have been boring. if you have friends that want to party, they'll do it no matter what time of day it is!

Re: daytime wedding...make me feel better
We had a daytime on a bright sunny July afternoon. My hall also had a skylight and big windows.
The shades were drawn and the light from the skylight did not hamper the partying one bit. Everyone had a blast and after the reception was over we invited everyone to an afterparty. It was great. It was like we had an extra long wedding day and reception.

exactly the same for me! i was worried at first, but afterwards i wouldn't have had it any other way! we drew the shades, but it wouldn't have mattered either way because people danced the whole time! and the gardens were beautiful!!!! i had bright beautiful sunshine AND a raging party!
we had a daylong wedding---we went to the hotel afterward and kept the party going until 1am!
you have nothing to worry about AT ALL!!!

It's going to be beautiful! I'm having a daytime wedding in July and at first I was concerend too but now I'm really happy with my choice!
Besides, think of it this way....you get to start you day earlier and you will probably get to party even more after your wedding recpetion is over some place else!

Prettier daytime pix and you don't have to worry about paying overtime to your vendors b/c it's likely that your RH will have another event after yours. We too are having an after party to keep the celebration going. People are going to have a great time no matter what.
