De Seversky Center - Reception Site

I'm considering the De Seversky Center (NYIT Campus) for our ceremony & reception. Any thoughts, opinions or experiences???

A bride (sorry cant remember her name) did a review on having her wedding there not too long ago..its on the review board, Im sure if you do a search you'll find it.

Hi. there is an official thread you can search for. i am getting married there next june. cant offer too many specifics b/c i have never been to a wedding there. but we will be doing both ceremony and reception there. we are doing mansion style, two hour cocktail hour, no seated dinner.
have you visited there yet?
we went to the valentines brunch, and booked right after that.
the best part about de seversky for me was that we will be the one and only wedding that day. i didnt want to be tied to a noon or 6pm time slot

I was in a wedding party there in October. The place is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! The bride that I'm sure someone else is referring to is my friend. Her screen name is afb10304, you can search for her review on the review board. There is a link to pics and everything.

We had an appointment yesterday. I love it. Just have to work a bit on John. He's 95% of the way there but wants to make sure we've thoroughly scouted out all of our options. I would have the ceremony there also but think I might do the sit-down dinner because we're hoping to only have between 100 - 125 guests.

I went to a wedding there not too long ago, and the ballroom was tight. Too many people and not enough room. There were tables on the dance floor. Also the room was very hot. I know there is a limit to how many people the room fits, I would go about 10 less then what they say. Otherwise it was a BEAUTIFUL place!!

Yes the ballroom cannot handle more then 125. We are only having 80 people so it will be nice and roomy.

How did you like the food?

I went to a wedding there...the food was great! 3 little salads in cups (FH called them salad shots!), beautiful grounds.

I heard they were pricey, but if you can do it....do it!
