Dear Guests that cancel at the last minute....

Original post by jennarose023

Dear Guests that cancel at the last minute,

I know the 3 of you have very busy schedules and your life doesn't revolve around my wedding, but if you knew you weren't going to make it to the wedding you never should have rsvp'd yes in the first place.

No really, I don't mind paying for your plates even though you won't be there...really no big deal! I didn't need that extra $500!!!!! Money grows on trees anyway, right?

I'll just make sure to be as considerate to you next time around!

YOU SUCK,
Bridezilla

Honestly we had 3 people cancel at the last minute. They sent us very generous gifts.

We had a last minute cancellation too, but it was out of their control. They were an elderly couple coming from florida and all of the flights were cancelled because of the hurricane.

look at the bright side, at least these people actually told you instead of being no-shows.... maybe you can get your hall to throw in extras instead

I am really mad about this too!

One friend suddenly has a memorial service to attend, how could I argue that. A death! She was driving two other women from NJ to LI and now the other woman suddenly has a family birthday to attend. Sounds fishy to me :( Leaving lady #3 alone and unsure what to do.

those are the worst.. and then what tops them are the ones who decide not to show up on the day of and call in and say they had a fever..

UGHHHHH. Because it is actually a BBQ in someone's backyard, and not a freaking wedding that you are paying tons of money per person.

My thoughts exactly . I only had one couple not show up or call until after, but I did have a few cancelations the week of that were lame at best. I will be sure to return the favor

what i couldn't stand with the no call, no show - no card. Sorry if you called me and said **** happened that is cool, i could of invited someone to just crash (LIW gals or not so close friends) but no call, then no show all 7 of you people and then ignore us for months and then can't even give us a damn card - go f yourself.

Ha Ha my fiance's great aunt or someone like that (and her son) RSVPd yes but just canceled because she's too old and they're worried about her walking and lasting the night, etc.

All I can say to that is that old age must REALLY sneak up fast because a month ago she was apparently young and swinging enough to go! Why not just say NO in the beginning???? It's a valid reason to not come but it's lame that all of the sudden they realized it

Those guests are the worst, but I still think it's better than those that come with no gift....

I agree, it's like 'come to the wedding and eat and drink for free'....especially the ones who SAY they're going to send you a gift and then- nothing. Why say anything at all then? Not that that would make it any better but at least you didn't make a promise you didn't keep!! Oh well...I need to get over this soon so I can live my life
