Re: dear shower guests

I registered for one cake plate and I ended up with four different ones. I guess I'll be baking a lot of cakes!

It happens, I agree, some people just prefer not to buy off the registry.

Also, at least it's showing up on your registry so you can make a few returns, when you get dups of stuff that they didn't get off the registry it's hard to return things.

FYI- PSA

you can return almost any Lenox thing to fortunoff as long as they carry it

or you can take it to the Lenox outlet

the sales person at fortunoff told me this after I freaked out about getting all the lenox stuff I didn't want or need

its like people don't get what a registry is. we are helping you, this is what we want. there are abotu 7 items on my crate and barrel registry that were not put there by me. oy! i can't take this.

you are so funny, I totally agree with you. Alot of people I know don't like to buy off the registry. I don't understand them

I love how they go to where you're registered, buy something you didn't register for and then say, 'You can take it back.'

So why did you buy it? I wanted to write in some of my thank yous - 'thanks for giving me an errand.'

OMG that is hysterical!

I also had someone send me what I called a 'cookie cutter' wedding gift. Meaning, they send that same exact gift to EVERYONE, even my friend got the same exact thing for her wedding from them. It's pretty, nonetheless, but you would think people would change these things up a bit? I was tempted to write in the thank you card 'Thank you so much for the beautiful (insert gift here), I admired it when you sent it to so-and-so for her wedding.'

Not to sound ungrateful or anything!

Thank You someone had the guts to say. I want what I asked for. Why else would I walk around Fortunoff for three hours picking out stuff. That wasn't good enough. My MOH and mother said you should register at MACYS so people will be able to get to it. WHAT if your my friend and you register at Tiffanys well either I get my pennies together or give cash enough for a spa day. Who does not want a Spa day?

Dear Shower guests I registered at Fortunoff not at what easiest for you store.

I may be an odd ball here, but I think you should be appreciative of what people give you no matter what...

Not to be argumentative, and not that my shower is any time soon, but I absolutely positively could not appreciate a vase - why - because I own a dozen of them. That would also be the reason there isn't a single one on my registry.

Thus far I have spent @ 16 hours in 5 stores (long story, but I'm not actually registered at 5 stores) on my registry. FH & I very carefully selected each item based on our taste, what we need, and what we can use right now (and not have to leave stored in boxes until we have a house). We picked some locals (like Fortunoff) and some nationals (like Macys). We choose items as inexpensive as $2, and some as expensive as $600. Not one person should have a problem selecting a gift to the point that they HAVE to grab something that isn't on a list.
