My opinion hasn't changed, and wouldn't have because of the debate. I only hope that other people's opinions have.

Re: Debate Poll
I voted for Nader in 2000. I knew Gore would take nY State and I believed in Ralph Nader and his message and I wanted to stand up against the 2 party political machine. This election I will not be voting for Ralph Nader even though Kerry will undoubtably win NY State. Why? Because I just believe this election is too important and the 2000 election was such a sham and there was so much complication and if not for Ralph Nader (among many other 'if not for this...' situations) Al Gore would be in office and we'd have a very different country.
What really turned me against Ralph Nader for this election once and for all was an interview I saw with him on Meet the Press. nader was asked 'Say it's 5 minutes before the polls close, Bush and Kerry are 49% and 49% in Ohio, one of your Ohio supporters calls you up and says, Mr Nader, do I vote for you or Mr Kerry, what do you tell him?' Nader said he would still tell that person to vote for him. I think Ralph Nader has every right to run for president and expect and encourgae people to support him. However after the scandal and ambiguity in the last race, I don't think now is the time to vote for a 3rd party candidate. His comment on MTP really bothered me. The few votes of his supporters has MUCH less of an impact on him than if they go on to help Kerry win the race. I am basing thison the assumption that progressive candidates would want a progressive in office, and Senator Kerry will do a much better job at promoting the causes Nader champions than Bush will. With the world in so much turmoil, I think it's more important in this election to get your vote counted toward who will actually become the president and make decisions about our health safety, economy and standing in the world than making a point or fighting for a multi party system. I think it's a battle that needs to be fought, but now is definitely not the time t pick that battle. Chances are, if you're a likely Nader voter, you will find yoursef more aligne with John kerry and would otherwise vote for him, and you'd much prefer John Kerry to be in office than George W Bush, so I think the smart thing to do is to vote for John Kerry because the more immediate fate of the nation and the world is more important than wheter or not Nader gets funding in 2008. Re: Debate Poll
I don't think anybody really 'won' the debate. But Kerry had a chance to get his point across so this will help him close the gap in the polls.
I still see Bush winning in the polls though. Maybe by 4-5 points now instead of 8.
