i watched most of the debate... i hate not being able to fully back a candidate...
I don't really like either of them... and i've thought about not voting, but i think i'm gonna go with Kery...
Not that my vote matters that much anyways... i vote in Virginia now, which hasn't gone democratic since Kennedy.
We'll see what happens... in a month i guess.

Re: Debate Poll
Reading the newspapers .. and believing all of it .. can be a dangerous thing .. very few papers .. present an unbiased opinion .. so how fair would that be .. it may be a good thing that most people don't read the papers.
I find it funny how the people who are backing Bush with very little solid reasoning behind them .. all pretty much say the same exact thing with regard to Kerry .. as if they've been brainwashed!
It scares me that Bush smirks and basically laughs off the building of nukes by North Korea and Iran. It scares me that he claims how Hussein was a threat on 9/10 (said this last night) .. well .. on 9/10 .. who was in office to do something about it???? So, if he did nothing then, who's to say we can feel comfortable with him now, especially the way he's trying to shoot down Kerry for his views on who's a threat, and who's not.
And where is Osama bin Laden???? Is Bush going to pull him out of his back pocket in the weeks/days prior to the election .. or is he going to say 'we're closing in on bin Laden' in the weeks/days prior to the election??? If bin Laden is actually a free man somewhere .. that scares me .. because his group is building up .. and while this administration is isolating themselves on the war on terror .. there are other major items creeping up to becoming major threats .. and all this administration seems focused on is the war .. not a safe move!

Re: Debate Poll
The onl thing I hear people say about Kerry si that he's a 'flip flopper.' You can say the same thing about Bush if you want to. Wheras the complaints people have about Bush seem to be more substantive. We can actually say 'i don't believe in his foreign policy His policy on this or that.' The only things I'm hearing about Kerry are that he's a flip flopper and not strong. If Bush wins it'll be on personality..or...something, but not on issues. Just ebcause somsone looks like or talks like a godo leader doens't mean that he is one. Bush's words and deeds are two very different things.

here's how i see it
after 9/11 hussein openly endorsed bin laden and what had happened
al qaeda and the terrorist groups had to be getting funding from somewhere and i highly doubt iraq wasn't funding them.
The proof of my statement is what Bush said last night. That all these terrorist groups are going to Iraq to resist the invasion. Why? Because there goes a major source of money when we win.
Afghanistan was just a pawn. When you slay a dragon, you cut off the head.
Obviously Saddam wasn't the head.
The dragon is still alive.
If Saddam was giving the terrorist groups so much money, then how are they still getting money if he's been captured and all his $$$ taken away?

The proof is that these terrorist groups are flooding Iraq to try to stop Iraq from being free
Free Iraq = no more money

McCain has the right mix of fiscal conservatism and liberal social policy I like to back in a candidate.
As I mentioned, I voted for Bush first time around- but I think I've been duped by him.. and that makes me mad... I am also still mad at him for his treatment of McCain in the 2000 election.
I hope Karl Rove rots in hell.

I'm sorry- that's not true considering that the majority of the money comes from Saudi's. but why we don't do anythign about it has everything to do with Bush being in bed with Saudi oil.

Umm, actually, no.
Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden are natural born enemies. Osama's whole deal is that he wants to destroy the infidels. The 'infidels' INCLUDE Secular Arab nations such as Iraq. Saddam may have been happy with the result of 9/11, but he most certainly would not have backed Al Qaida, because Al Qaida wants to destroy him!
You want to know who is more likely to back Al Qaida's cause? Hmmm, why not look to the Theocracies in the Middle East, like, ummm, I dunno... SAUDI ARABIA?! No wait, they're our FRIENDS. They woud *never* hurt us.
I STILL haven't heard any reasonable explanation for why we don't have Osama Bin Laden, who is over 6 feet tall and dragging around a Dialysis machine with him around the desert - Especially since we had him cornered at Tora Bora.

Re: Debate Poll
Six-feet-tall-on-dialysis...
Um..that's not really difficult to find.
Also, if we knew Osama dd it form day 1, wouldn;t yu question his family? Not put them on the only plane in the air and let them leave? They quesioned the McVeigh family. Any time there's a crime, i thought you questioned the family.
And yes, Al Qaeda and Iraq were ENEMIES, not friends.

I am voting for Kerry. And although I think Dean or McCain would make a better President, I think Kerry would be better than Bush.
I think 'sticking to your guns' in the face of alternate information is a character flaw.
I think that Kerry changes his opinion based on what he is learning- the world is constantly evolving- and so should our opinion of how to deal with the World and our enemies. It was Bush that made Kerry out to be this flip flopper- because that was the only way he could win-
American people are ignorant- they don't read the paper and they don't understand the politcal process- they don't understand that a vote against something in Congress isn't necessarily about the core issue- there are typically riders to bills or there may be issues how something is going to be paid for.
for example- just because a republican in the Senate votes against school lunches or against increasing minimum wage doesn't mean they are against children or people at McDonald's- it often times means that there isn't a provision in the bill, or they don't agree with the provision in the bill, on how to pay for the services.
That is why Kerry voted against funding the war- b/c there was no mention of how we were paying for this- and he was sort of saying... um- lets pay for it- but lets figure out how to pay for it. Makes sense to me. That isn't flip flopping.

Re: Debate Poll
Did you see Fahrenheit 9/11? NONE of the things I mentioned in either of my arguments are in that movie, with the exception of the accusation of Saudi Arabia. The accusation of Saudi Arabia, btw, is perfectly validated just by looking at the original 9/11 Hijackers - the majority of them were Saudis.
No, I'm not a Moore-bot. I'm Informed.

All of the things Princess Rose is saying and I'm saying, including the stuff that WAS in FH9/11 caan still be found by continuing the age old tradition of opening a newspaper every morning and reading it.
