December '09 / January '10 / February '10 Reception Hall Prices...
Original post by WinterBride1
Hello everyone. New to this website!!! But seems like there is loads of info on this site!!!
I am looking for a reception hall location for a winter wedding, but my fiance and I will be paying for the entire thing... and so we are on a limited budget!
Just wondering what were some of the prices that everyone has heard for Dec. 2009, Jan. 2010 and Feb. 2010.
The places that I have gone to so far have all been over $110pp, but some of the threads online tell a different story!
Help!!!!!!! Thanks! <3 - Winter Bride in Need of Much Help!

No worries... thanks for the info though. It's very helpful to know general dollar amounts... I will make an appointment to check everything out soon (unfortunately no RH gives prices over the phone)... but most likely after the holidays.
Anyone else have heard of any prices for Floral terrace, Sand castle, New Hyde Park Inn or Metropolitan? Especially in the winter months with seafood at cocktail hour?
that is odd that you aren't getting prices over the phone. every placed i called would at least give a price range over the phone.

For Sandcastle in November:
Saturday night - $186 pp (inc tax and tip) Sunday night - $165 pp (inc tax and tip)
i was really surprised at these prices, they told me that it was because they're going to do one wedding at a time starting 2009. HOWEVER, they kept calling me back and lowering the price and throwing in extras (like paying for the $500 deposit)

I can get price ranges... but even a 5$ can make a difference since my fiance has a lot of family! Ahh!

Thanks for the Nov. prices... it's a lot of money... but i like the idea that they have one wedding at a time though... it's something that I am looking for.
But other places are quoting under 100 for Jan. so these higher prices make me worry.

If you book at the Sandcastle or Floral Terrace (same owners) included in the price is a honeymoon to Greece, so that is how they charge more

I know... it's crazy... but the 120 price was for Sandcastle. Our friends went to get a price and they were told 130+ and they went to 120+ tax, but it included seafood bar and a whole bunch of extras including the trip to Greece. They ended up booking at Jericho Terrace for 80+ but in Sept. (which was their ideal time bc they wanted a fall wedding.)
So that's why I wanted to know more details about the prices so that I have a better idea of what they are offering before I go there to ask..

flowerfield is in st. james (smithtown area, right by smithaven mall)
its part of the winter promotion if you book in jan/feb 2010. they give you a basic album i think 24 photos and they inlcude STD's, thank yous and a few enlargements. anything else you would want you would just pay to have it upgraded. they also give you a choice of i think 4 different centerpieces from their house florist.
its $110 plus tax and gratuity and you have to gurantee 125 people

New Hyde Park Inn I believe is one of the MOST expensive on LI all around now.
If i remember correctly, someone was getting married on a Sat night in the summer and it was between $200-$250 pp.
However, I do not know about winter.
Since you're looking at those types of places, take a look into Flowerfield. Their winter package is amazing!!

welcome and congrats on your engagement!!
Fh and I are also paying for everything ourselves...the price quotes i got for january-march 2010 ranged from $53 pp++ to 135/145 pp++ it all really depends on the type of place you are looking for and what day (fri/sat/sun) you wanted.
I went to Sunset Harbour and they told me $55 per person for Feb. You should check it out...

true, but we told the owner (he's greek and so are we) that we dont want the honeymoon since we've been to greece a million times and he really didnt do much with the price once we told him that (he owns the hotel you stay at in greece and i think its closed from nov-feb anyway).
