Delayed Honeymoon??

First of all it is aweful that anyone would say that it's stupid! Not everyone has the luxury of just dropping thier job (or not having one to begin with)!

We had to postpone ours for several reasons:

1. We were planning Disney World..and um..Florida has been through a bit of a damaging season this fall..and I specifically wanted to go in October ...when the Halloween festivities are!

2. It's another $3-4K that we can not spend this year

3. Work. And taking off more of it is bad. I took off work the week of the wedding as it is.

So there is our story..we're waiting until our 1 year anniversary! October 2005.

we'll enjoy it even more after waiting os damn long!

It's rude for someone to tell you that something that's right for you is 'stupid.' People can be so clueless and insensitive. It is not stupid at all, even if that's what you wanted to do and you HAD the time right after your wedding. Your day, your way! Like a girlfriend told me, 'do YOU mommy!'

We were married in Sept and took our hm in December. DH is in grad school full time and couldn't go any earlier. I was disappointed at first, but ended up loving it. When the wedding passes you get this feeling of 'what now' b/c you have so much free time and the past year and a half of planning is now over. So when I got that 'what now' feeling, I could answer 'Honeymoon!' and I had three more months of something to look forward to!

I have known a lot of people that have done that. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. You should do whatever the 2 of you agree on, not what everyone else tells you is 'right.'
