For me it totally depends on the situation.. If she just wanted to go because she is excited and wanted to see what we chose then I wouldn't mind at all. If she was going to give me her opinions and try to tell me what dress I should get then I would be annoyed. I would also take into account whether FMIL has any daughters... If not, this may be her only chance to enjoy looking at these things. This is JMO though and I can totally understand you not wanting her there if your own mom is not!

I don't really understand the issue honestly..... I wouldn't mind if FMIL came at all (I don't think she plans on it, but I wouldn't mind). Unless she's really pushy? If it's just a matter of bad taste don't sweat it, you don't have to buy something she picks out!

I think it's nice she wants to be involved.... when she wrote down style #s of BM dresses she was probably just trying to be helpful.... (as much as she probably wasn't... AT ALL lol)

Like I said, unless shes a giant pushy biotch I think you may be overreacting a little bit..... just my honest opinion though!
