What are the different deposit policies out there in terms of reception halls? Back when I thought I was going to get married in Dallas, a bunch of places told me they expected 50% at the time of signing the contract to hold the spot even if I was booking more than a year in advance. I was kind of surprised by that and wonder if this is the same policy here in NY.
So, you don't have to name your reception hall if you don't want to, but do please share what % deposit you had to leave so I can be a prepared for whatever the halls dish out

I think for most of them you just have to give $1000.00.

$1000?? That's a relief. When I told my parents about the 50% thing, I thought my mother was going to plotz.

lol - some are even less than $1000.
We only had to leave $500. $1500 was due 30 days later, another (larger) payment is due 6 months before the wedding, then 1 month before the wedding, than final payment is week before wedding.

My deposit was $500 then we have to send in payments of $2500 every couple of months

Our deposit was $500 and two months later we had to pay $2000.

welcome possible date twin! I had to leave 2000 then 2000 3 months later 2500 3 months from that 3500 45 days before balance two days before
