my shower is next weekend and there is hardly anything bought off my registry...im soooo sad. we need so much stuff. Did this happen to anyone else?

I wouldnt worry so much if we both didnt live at home and are moving into an apt and have NOTHING!!! I mean we really need everything! We have no pots, pans, silverware etc.
I don't know... I have a feeling that someone you know found out that you're a peeker! maybe, they're buying you stuff without having it scanned off the registry, just to throw you off!

dont worry, our e-party is friday and not too many things have disappeared yet... just a few... but i was told i wasnt allowed to check anymore...

i haven't had much bought off my registry...but you know what-oh well. my wedding is next weekend and i could really care less. somehow, it just doesn't seem to matter.

I wouldn't worry too much! I think most people buy stuff the last minute b/c they have an 'instant' list of things to chose from, so there really isn't that much thought that goes into it.
I just bought a gift for a baby shower I'm going to next weekend, and I know all the girls that I work with haven't gotten their gifts yet...so it does happen a lot.

The same exact thing happened to me!!! Everything was bought the weekend before and even during the week!!! If your shower is on a sunday people will even wait till next friday and sat to buy gifts!!!!
I took it really personal and I shouldn't have.
The reason I also got less gifts off my registry then I expected is b/c alot of people gave us gift cards, cash , and things not off the registry (luckily stuff I actually liked)
Hang in there!!
My SIL's shower is in 2 weeks and hardly anything is missing off her registry. Only like 10 people have even rsvp'd so far

The same thing happened to me. In the end I was shocked at all the gifts and money we received. We got lots of money too, which is sometimes better than gifts. Don't be sad, it all going to work out.

I agree with this. I threw my FSIL her shower last year, and ALL the stuff was bought off her Fortunoff registry, and the majority was not until during the week OF the party. Have no fear, I am sure things will start popping off this week.

aww! dont worry sweetie! you will get tons of stuff. and if you get gift certificates then you can buy what you need!! dont fret- it will be great!!! besides, if people are anything like me, they will buy within 2-3 days of the shower- or even later.

THere is hardly anything off my registry. Its nerve wracking but people do wait until the last mintue that is for sure.

A lot of people buy things at the last minute- also- where did you register? People sometimes buy things and either forget to remove it from the registry or will buy it somewhere else if they find a better price.

I'm in the same boat as you.
Mine is next weekend too. Actually, I know a lot of my cousins are not coming because it's high communion season and all of their kids and kid's friends are having them. I don't think my MOH and FMIL thought of that.
Don't want to sound petty but so far FH's family is FAR more generous when it comes to gift. This is ironic because we have received the more expensive gifts from relatives of his whom I've never met. Most of my cousins, who I have been VERY generous to over the years, are not making it to my shower and are not sending a gift
I had no idea how cheap my extended family is. My Dad was over the top generous to them compared to how they are.
