anyone else feeling down in the dumps? Depressed about life?
Get it all out here!!!
Me: I dont know why Im so upset at the idea that I might not have a shower. I always said 'I dont need one' well now its coming true. i love the idea that all my friends and family can come together to support my impending marriage
wish i could think positively but in my situation, everyone thinks everyone else is planning it, which means noone is planning it
i feel like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh - just hanging my head and being negative about it all
if you really want a shower, then talk to your moh and bridesmaids and have them help you plan one. talk to the one that's in town b/c it's harder for the oot ones.
good luck! i've learned far too many times esp. with this wedding planning that you're never going to get what you want unless you ask (or insist)!
(roar) where's the cat's paw nails icon?

Re: depressing thread
I know how you feel - I told my family not to give me a shower but to give my younger sister one instead. She's eloping in the Bahamas two weeks before my wedding and she needs stuff more than I do. And now that we're in the midst of planning her shower, I sometimes feel sad that I won't have one.

Re: depressing thread
Are you sure they aren't doing anything for you? Maybe you could try talking to PJ and let him know how you're feeling.... Maybe he can pass the word on to the other members of your BP if your MOH isn't going to be able to handle it. Maybe even the moms can help!
I'm sure things will all work out- you know where to find me if you want to chat!!

Jenn, Maybe they just don't want you to know about it! Your wedding is still a ways off yet! But if you are worried hint like crazy... There is still plenty of time left... Start with so and so's shower looked like so much fun. And if you haven't already register and they give you cards that you use for showers and give them to the most likely to get the hint person all filled out. Cheer up!!! And remember why we are going through this crazyness in the first place. Cas

you girls are the best. Yes Kara, 11/25 is THE date to get married LOL Jennie, as always you are constantly offering me your shoulder. I am so grateful. And to the other ladies on this thread, thank you for always trying to make me see the positive and good in this whole process. awe Hugs!!
Maybe they are really good at keeping it a secret. Even still, talk to your MOH. She'll set it up!! Or talk to FH, and have him talk to MOH so that something is set up!!
Probably just wedding stress!! We all go through this. It' natural. Take a deep breath, relax, because you're the bride and nothing else matters!! Everything always works out in the end!!
Good luck with everything!!

I am so sorry you are feeling down in the dumps. We are all here to support you.
I think you need to talk to your BP and Mom and get it out in the open that you really want a shower and offer to help plan one. It doesn't always have to be a surprise.

Re: depressing thread
oohhh. Why don't you talk to your MOH and maybe you can arrange a brunch with your bridal party, mothers, grandmothers, close aunts, etc. This way it is sort of like an informal bridal shower.
OR, you never know, they could be working something up and you just don't know about it!

Re: depressing thread
I think you need to tell you mother, or someone else in the BP you would like a shower. It's still a few months off, so who knows? They might be planning to throw you one, even if you haven't heard anything yet.
I know how you feel though. If you really want a shower, you should have one. If the planning or money is a bit much for them, they could do a pot luck shower. I went to one once, and it was really lovely. Someone did coordinate dishes a bit so we didn't wind up with 10 salads and no dessert, but it was very nice, and no one had to do a ton of work.

You should maybe tell FH to hint around to your mom or someone in your BP, MOH.

Re: depressing thread
OK I got one.. My MOH who is my sister just told me she is royally pissed off because of the date me and my FH picked for our wedding. It's the day after her birthday and she is almost 30 years old (she will be 29). Am I wrong here? I thought about it, thought that it would be alright because it was the day after and really wasn't planning anything on it. It's just I wanted to be married before we hit our 2 year engagement and she is upset about this. I don't understand. What should I say? She never said anything about this beforehand. She waits until now, 4 months before the wedding when I'm stressing about everything else to lay this on top of me.

Re: depressing thread
I think she is just realizing that she won't get ANY attention on her birthday. It's not like it's her 30th birthday, and even if it was, she is your sister and should be happy for you no matter what.
I think you should try to find a nice way to tell her that she is being selfish. She will have many more birthdays, but you will only have one wedding. And, I find that the best way to get through to people is to tell them how UPSET (as opposed to MAD) you are. Don't worry, she'll get over it, she's your sister and your MOH, which means that you have a pretty decent relationship right there. And, she could be stressed about planning things for you and that's why she is saying she is mad.
