Descent wedding Price!

Hi Girls!!!!
I was just wondering, not even sure what my limit is, but I am just curious how much do you girls think a descent wedding cost these days????

For the entire wedding?

I think there is such a huge range it could be anywhere from $10,000-sky's the limit like on platinum weddings

Cost per person has a huge effect

Also the bigger the wedding the more $$ bc then you are paying more per person, you need more flowers for centerpieces etc.

Also once you start factoring in honeymoon, dress, rings.....it really adds up.

I think the best thing to do is work out a budget and then try to stick with it.

Also visit vendors to get an idea of how much things cost. HTH

first figure out your guestlist and if you didnt pick out an rh how about telling them that after you book you'll let them know. Its hard to know what you'll pay before booking anything. Hey even when you book down the line you end up spending more than you thought. Usually they say the RH is 50% of the cost so you can try that assumption.

Its hard to say at all bc there is no way to just tell someone, x amount is a typical wedding. It can differ so much, a person can have 100 ppl at their wedding and another have 300.

Factor in DJ ($1500 for me), photog ($2400), florist (about $1800). . .this wedding is probably costing us upwards of $23G for (hopefully) 180 people.

it depends bc many rh's are $100 and up per person. IVe seen many even paying $125 pp or $150pp and some higher.

i think for a fri or sat night, getting photo/vid, florist, gown, hair makeup, invitations, limos, hall, the WHOLE 9 yards.... i would anticipate at least $25-30k.. JMO

I agree. I also agree that you should make up your guest list first (remember that the 'average' no rate is about 20-25%!) and check out some RHs. The one thing that makes a big difference, is how many guests you are expecting and the cost per person.

Our place is costing us a lot, we are actually going to book next week, it comes out to around 180 a person..... So I have a feeling because of that our wedding is gonna come out pricey :(

Well we actually do have a guest count and we did find a place for our wedding, which is coming out very pricey... So I am just hoping hopefully its 50% of the whole wedding....

Our place is costing us a lot, we are actually going to book next week, it comes out to around 180 a person..... So I have a feeling because of that our wedding is gonna come out pricey :(

well take the 180 per person price and times that by amount of guests you have or do it just by minimum you guaranteed and that will give you the number for your RH. The RH though will put the total on the contract, with taxes, gratuity and all that included.

once you have that number then you will have a much better idea. And like i said usually they say the RH is about 50% of the budget so good way to figure out the rest.

My whole wedding is $11,000 right now including my dress, RH, photos, DJ, bridemaids dress (gifts to my BMs), hotel and travel for me and my family, rings, flowers and invitations. I may add another $1,700 for a DOC and rehearsal dinner, but that may go down. I really wish I could have done a different day, but for a Sunday I'm getting a steal! So it is entirely possible to do a wedding below $15,000.

Yea i agree Espo. I sure wish my number was more like $23,000 for the entire wedding... but it sooo isn't. seeing that made me a lil sad. ha ha.

It also depends on how many people you are having.

The RH being about 50% ... that's about accurate for us.

we are aiming for $18K-20k
i am DIY'ng most of our stuff so that is heleping to keep most of the costs down
